how many people need to go to eve before you are the only one left ?Let's see if you think ED is a competitive pvp being this its target then yes, you are right in the first point. But I'm afraid that's not the case ... Besides, it's hardly going to be an MMO with a p2p connection system ...
Personally, I hope they never remove either the solo mode or the group session. If you don't like it, you can always go to EVE online.
I think the factional war is the BGS. What is the war between the factions of a system (and in which a faction of players can participate). And the factions, in turn, are affiliated with the Powerplays.
I think that this would not make sense either, of going to kill a political boss, or a representative. Since Powerplay is not only war, it is also political and it translates into different flows of goods in the markets (something that seems closer to the reality of how things would be) also, following the current lore, this would lead to to a war across the human galaxy, and back to the above, this is not a Call of duty. Is a simulator dated in the year 3000 +.
You can do many things, like the ones you have mentioned in the rest of the points. And yes they could be fine, but with the core of the game they collide in many aspects. Like stealing ships, it wouldn't make sense with current game systems.
Yes, I see correct the crossplay between the different platforms.
Unfortunately us PvE peons don't meet your fightclub honor bros. All we get to see are the "git gud" gankers who get their kick from clobbering noob T6 in a CG. Thus you must excuse if your space bushido pals appear as real as unicorns to usNo my friend, it would not take forever for fully G5 engineered teams to take each other out. There is a significant gamut of skill in fa off combat wing fighting which most Commanders have not experienced, let alone understand.
Since I am on my tablet it is hard to link vids. There are many PvP tournament videos proving my point.
CQC installations have a lot of obstacles akin to the dense asteroid fields of San Tu. In addition there are some strategies in wing fighting that upon destruction of one, fdl, the demise of that team is all but certain.
PvPers are totally impatient and bore easily. Most will not tolerate long drawn out battles. We often put shield booster limits and prohibit any synthesis or reboot in order keep matches interesting and short.
If we are ever lucky enough to have any ship in a CQC arena, most of us would also request specificity as to whether the power ups were allowed or not.
PvPers may be murder hobos on the side, but at their core there is a space bushido by which many abide.

I play exclusively in Mobius but would happily move to Open if they even limited it to PVP flags. It's time for Frontier to remove PvP from Open.
Would be my dream game.private player run servers and a full mod system.
Fdev didn't put that in the game, or do you mean play Star Citizen where you can indeed buy and drink at the bar? /jtake a drink at the bar.
A modded server version would far surpass the glacial movement and story telling of Fdev where it would have all that and more within 6 months. Not sure why they couldn't be patched though, might reset things but player modded servers would quickly update after patches. While it might not re-write the game - you would lose any development, any story, any expansion... The Thargoids would remain exactly as they are, no Raxxla, no CGs, no stations spiraling out of orbit and likely no further development of the game or patching.
I can't speak for everyone, but personally I have no issue with being blown up a human if that human is roleplaying a criminal. There is even a mode in ED that facilitates this very scenario and which can, with careful planning, replace the "if" with a solid "when."Although a rebuy is a rebuy no matter what form of demise, the fact of the matter is, is that many Commanders are more deeply affronted by getting blown up by human who roleplays a criminal rather than the truly draconian in-game rules like pad loitering.
Its ironic because you have two systems that kind of do both, with only the P2P holding things back- an abstracted BGS and Powerplay that is set up for PvP (explict pledges, territory, real time UI for merits, simple cargo and jobs signalling intention- i.e. the polar opposite to the BGS).It's impressive that - given how far off Elite Dangerous is from being a competitive PvP game (and has gradually got further away from one over the years) - it's still apparently easier to fantasise about it being rewritten from the ground up to be one than it is to imagine that some other developer might release a space game actually designed for competitive PvP.
I guess in some ways it's a vote of confidence in Frontier that despite the state of Odyssey and the heavy PvE focus of the game design it still appears to be the best candidate for "might be a good PvP game one day" wishful thinking.
I don't understand what you meanhow many people need to go to eve before you are the only one left ?
Joined in 2018.... you need a history lesson in Forum history.Isn't it a moderator's job to keep the thread on-topic and not change the title of the post...
Elaborate. That's just a phrase lacking any content.lot of assumptions there
This please.A question for those who perpetuate the open vs Solo/PG game play threads. Do you think the world revolves around you? If moderators insta-closed these threads, will the forum cease to exist? No, you will leave the forum, others will come. It's time for the moderators to do something that breathes new life into the forum and instantly close these threads.
No, those of us that prefer to play in solo or private don't want to change the entire game to suit ourselves. You do.Oh yes, your egocentrism is more important than mine.
and this is exactly the problem. No, those of us that prefer to play in solo or private don't want to change the entire game to suit ourselves. You do.

I'm working with a squadron off and on playing bait in my Cutter and my Krait. What I find hilarious is how the 'professional' PvPers scatter when they understand they are going to lose.
Eve's player driven economy is something I've always wished FDev would ... use as an inspiration. Their forced PvP, not at all.
Mind being more specific, and it would help if you could do it unemotionally?I can vibe with one sentiment the OP seems to have shared, the game is loaded with unfinished parasitic features.
Odyssey is just the latest one, unfortunately it breaks the base game too.
