State of the Game

I can't remember the last time that there was space enough on my desktop for actual desktop icons to be visible (they are always covered with windows). :ROFLMAO:
yea..i never use desktop icons for anything. mine's basically empty of all of them except maybe the trash can .. i launch everything from the application task bar / start bar (whatever your window desktop environment calls it). or console. My desktops all have terminal windows or browser windows or steam etc covering the monitor backgrounds.

True, but sometimes its nice to have some semblance of what the dish was before it was changed or I freestyle it. Curries for example are where I like to know what the original was like.
but with a dish like shashuka this is pretty hard to say what the original dish was - it is a north african dish and the cuisine in north africa is so diverse and then there is the middle east with their own versions of it and turkey has one as well - that is a bit like with cous-cous, favorite dish in northern africa, but there is not just one way to make it.

Forum Tycoon Planet is FTP.

file transfer protocol is also FTP. but like many acronyms ...context matters. That's why i can say ED here and everyone doesn't assume i'm talking about erectile dysfunction.
yeah, but I assumed you are working in IT and then it can happen that one just mixes acronyms which are often used in the workplace.

Again true, but its nice to at least know the basis for it. The UK for example with curries like Masala, Korma are really different to 'real' ones.

I bought some Oriental spice mix from my local Casino, only to see it had the very Oriental oregano, paprika, salt and pepper in it, when Chinese Five Spice is totally different. To someone who bought that mix and not knew, they'd be living in ignorance.

F2P is free to play usually. which given the penchant for skill-less grind activities ...i'm kind of surprised elite isn't. With paid tiers to give access to certain modules that make dealing with that grind a bit less annoying (better mining lasers...guardian fsd ..supercruise assist.. etc).

seems like it was designed for that kind of income model.

that is like when you go to a chinese restaurant and expect it to be chinese - then you go to china and the food is nothing like it - totally different.

Well, I just remember a video series from 2 guys who lived in china and have married chinese women - who were on the search for the most authentic chinese food outside of china - well actually in california, iirc. let me see if i can find it.

Well this is episode 4 - but you will find the rest I guess

I used to go to a 'Chinese' Chinese restaraunt in Croydon with some Chinese friends - no other westerners were there that day... Just Chinese etc. I did refrain from eating the cripy fried hens feet and the beef entrails, the rest was pretty good, but would never have been seen in any 'westerners' Chinese restaraunt! (same as in Japan, eat and drink with the natives, just reach the conclusion that a hangover, and potential liver transplant, is everyday living)

I went and downloaded Warframe, and looked at the latest notes.

Sweet babay carrats they are extensive.
You don't even know the half of it.
They speak to the community all the time and take feedback. Quickly. The CM is a big player (no kidding, she is max "rank", kinda like level, and it's a big grind, I'm not there by a long shot) and will often push update and fix because she is affected by the same issue than us.

Fun fact, they pushed a "space sim" part to the game and it was bad. They didn't show actual stuff during the presentation. Anyway, they did 3 MAJOR patches to it, and promised never to show stuff that wasn't ACTUALLY working.

The big boss (think braben) is doing unfiltered AMA 2h before every patch and literally note stuff on a notepad.

Oh and every time they make a patch with changes to stuff we grinded, they are generous with compensation. Most game give you nothing.

On topic (hah!)

I'm very much like Ender (except less grumpy) - I want to play ED but that's because I remember how much fun I used to have when I thought there was stuff to actually find, and that by exploring (or whatever) I'd actually make some difference somewhere. Eventually I realized that was never going to happen and that once I'd done all the things I wanted to do, there was nothing left to do but more of the same. Combine that with the fact that there hasn't been new content that I've been interested in since about v2.2 and I'm just here for the FTP.

weather forecast for Hobart today reads "rain at times" - but then you look at the possible amount 1-3mm - so not even enough time to open the brolly. Wouldn't be of any help anyway, rain will come sideways due to windy conditions.
Come to London. A brolly won't help here either as it was bouncing up so high and hard from the pavement (as well as coming in sideways latterly).

that is what my partner and I are doing as well - following the natives and see where they eat. This can be good but as well be a horrible experience. I remember a place in Beijing, where people were happily eating a soup, beige in color, with visible pleasure. We tested it and couldn't even swallow the first spoon full of it. I tasted like the cook would have cooked out his socks worn for weeks on end in that soup - absolutely horrible, we had a hard time not to throw up right there, just from having that in our mouth.

Grumpy yes, but I think depressing is a better description.
