if you get a hirens disk, you can partition however you want to.
you can then also make backups of the allocation table, mbr..what ever you need.
that's the install default, it is changeable.
I make the disk partitioned the way I like before inserting the install disk.
Windows is terrible at partitioning and it never tells you exactly what you need to know, so experience in installing windows thousands of times...makes sure you remember how.
Its also 100% because of windows terrible ability to fix disk damage that windows itself causes, That I ever started using disktools. way back to windows 2.1 pure garbage.
Windows has hibernate and sleep modes.
In MS entire history, these have never worked correctly and windows cannot fix its own damage that it causes by the use of sleep and hibernate.
To a technician, this means if I don't manually repair often, I will be reinstalling within 2 years or less. and/or buying new drives.
you can make your own partition or use the system partition and install the disktools there. then you don't need to do anything for a repair other than run from windows, 5 minutes and its all good to hibernate or sleep again..
or use a usb or anything..its easy with the correct tools
normally your system partition has the mbr and bootmanger. they need to be properly moved before you can delete that partition, or you will be back to square 1 again.
p.s. if I did not say it before, hirens and Bartpe are free.
you could buy the best on the market and it would not get you the abilities you will get from Hirens.
