it isn't the textures that cause the problem, it the culling of objects that the player can't see, further way ,behind, left or the right side of them. The more objects that have not been culled properly the less fps you have. it a standard game industry tactic to help make games run a lot smoother.

more than likely. has the objects that are further away are still being fully rendered, take a look at the video on the other thread i made.
but basically.
if you stand on the concourse you will not see people faces and uniforms/chairs/plants in such high clarity along with a bar. the blur options can sorted most of that but not much. Along with massive hi poly ships coming in dock. each of these will kill the fps! distance will be blurred. not fully rendered with high details textures.

Actually. Going in circles seems the more correct. The management of fdev spins, the white knight regulars excuses, and the players are either salty or vanishing. Mostly the latter. The white knights will end up with the game they deserve.
geez, if any one states anything positive.. even with video evidence they are called a white knight, ill tell you what when content creators like Obsidian ant use horizons footage whilst talking about Odyssey now that is false and lazy advertising go watch the Burr pit if you want to see that odyssey can run and look fantastic, if your system aint working then im sorry but mine is, fdev are trying to sort it, its not just culling many nvidia players are getting low frames with very low gpu usage which is a big problem somewhere

And, I'm not pointing at those who point out a single thing. I am, however, pointing at those who boldly claim there are now problems at all, everything is perfect, and those content creators (in this case I prefer the term "pet streamers") who ban people for "being negative" for pointing out that the people claiming everything is perfect WHEN EVEN FDEV ACKNOWLEDGES THERE ARE PROBLEMS, such as the googly-eyed mal(ic)-content (creator). There. You've made me name an example.
if you find anyone who says there are no problems.. well they need to be sanctioned for their own safety, counter to this people who fail to accept any positives should probably also look into maybe taking a breath and a step back, the strange feeding frenzy of negativity is draining for everyone and far from helping resolve issues or bringing new problems to light merely muddies the water, forcing players away from the forums and eventually away from the game
Malic _VR has never stated nor pretended that there are no problems with Odyssey. Where did you get this idea from?
He tries to have a positive outlook on that FDev will fix things though. Maybe that is the problem (for you)?
I have never seen anyone post claiming there are no problems with EDO at all. Please reference the post.
Some of us still enjoy it, and at the same time are annoyed with the issues. I personally love EDO, enjoy it in its current state, but I definitely want FDev to continue to fix the MANY problems, including the non-optimized performance. I'm grateful I have the top end hardware where I can enjoy EDO, but performance is gating many folks enjoyment and that has to be cleaned up.

I am disappointed that Frontier released EDO in this condition, that was really a bad call. But I still play it, enjoy it, and more than willing to give FDev a chance to clean EDO up, if they can. I hope they can. Time will tell.

Sorry, thought it would be clear to who because of the claim made and repeating reference, but here goes....
"Those who boldly claim..." I haven't seen one yet, and would like to see the post of one of the "those" who have stated such.
It could have been me, after 12+ IPA beers in one evening I suppose. Of course, I have no memory of it, but memory loss could be assumed normal in such a condition. I hope it wasn't me, I would have to have myself committed.
A 3070 won't change much, believe me (framerate and heat)
Except (maybe?) if you are ready to make compromises on graphic quality (no ultra).

Yes I'm on high settings and I have low frame rate on planet and stations 30 or less. In space flight 60 fps. The big problem for me is gpu fan noise which I don't have on Horizons. Playing Horizons is excellent
good fps and no noise. I guess there is something in Odyssey graphic engine, shame because I still think that Odyssey is a good dlc and give much more options to play. Well I have to wait for better updates like most of us.
I can't stand stepping into the blue circle to get beamed up to my ship. This is not startrek.
The majority of planets I find with atmospheres are beautiful blues. They seem thicker in trailer though maybe they vary?
Finding a non blue always feels special. They are probably my single favorite part of expansion. They add a lot.
Like you said too, they are in real time and I've had those msfs moments chasing the sunset in a 591 boosting Phantom.

well i dont want a elite dangerous 2 that steals my money with broken updates either... i honestly dont care about elite anymore. they cant fix it. i still have utterly poor fps. cant enjoy new planet tech in vr. they lied big time and stole our money with alpha and release.

Maybe, just maybe, it's because this isn't a malicious event. It's a game that was released, and that release went very, very badly.

It's a stop-gap solution that may or may not end up being a permanent fixture, pending any possibility of ship interiors.
How else do you expect to enter your ship, when there is no interior to traverse?
And no, we were never promised interiors in this DLC.
I believe the disembark/reembark is more than just a fade out and a temp solution. I think it is doing a lot of things as it fades to black and "pauses", such as switching out separate 3D engines from ship to foot and exchanging data with the server. This is why it hangs once in awhile (constant black screen with sound effect of steps on ladder forever). I don't think we will ever get a "smooth transition" like walking out a cockpit door even if ship interiors became a reality.
I have to assume the EDO foot implementation was done completely separate from the ship engine and was "bolted" onto the main ED game.
The black out teleport is here to stay, basically a load screen transition from one to the other. Of course, I'm just guessing and only FDev knows for sure. Just have to accept the current state of it and space sim on.
