Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

If you are gonna make fun of a relient, it better be the news van mako.

So you kill someone, I show up in my news ship and interview you then show some footage of the wreck?

Is there a space tv network that hires me as an anchor? What do I do with the news I document?

Armstrong had to exit the lander arxe-first onto what was basically a shelf and then drop off the end of the ladder because the last step down was too big to make wearing his suit. It was hardly the image of someone striding majestically down the landing ramp of a Cutter that I think some people have in mind :ROFLMAO:

(Although the fact of the step being too big would be apt lol)

One giant step for man... this last one is a big one!

And now that's really got me thinking. Many ships in ED have the land teleporter in front of the front landing leg, I wonder if it's at all possible to land that close to a sharp cliff edge that you get disembarked into empty air?

I was just looking up which Star-Warsian ships they hadn't done yet, as a ship sale is clearly needed, and stumbled on this...

Apparently it's supposed to do this:

A long range exploration science vessel, which can be used via the fleet oversight mechanic from the giant modular science vessel.

If any of those things existed.

But for now it's just a silly cigar craft you can boop about in looking a bit Star-Warsian.

(Only $85. Bargain! 😁)

Think I'll just drop this here...

:) Fun fact : this ship is one of the few I really like the design (despite the useless fancy "hor2vert" converter) and the only I almost CCUed my Aurora for last time I was weak enough to think about yielding to temptation to the ship buying game. Then I read it was one of the broken ships endlessly waiting for its refactor. :)

They are interesting, with the twisty mono wing and all that, i don't know how the fudge a huge bulky mono wing can turn 90' on a hull 1/5 the size but lets gloss over that..... from a practical point of view it useless, weak in combat with no fire power and presenting its self a literal broad side of a barn, it has no real cargo, has no specialised ability to make up for its daftness, the bloody thing doesn't even have a bed, not even a bog.

No wonder its so unloved, have you ever actually seen one in game?

It's a perfect example of how significant parts of the space game community tend to consistently miss the forest for the trees. Armstrong was famously the dude who first walked on another planet, not the first dude to climb a ladder. It's similar to people being super excited by the presence of toilets, or finger prints on textures, while missing fundamental issues.
It's a perfect example of failed marketing. EDO's moment is a black screen transition. In reality in EDO the Armstrong moment isnt there at all.

That marketing was doomed to get memed if not ridiculed because passing out in your ship for a few seconds and waking up standing on a ball of ice is a bit like getting a knitted christmas theme sweater from your grandmother and your wife.
