Where is there anything officially saying it’s a “stop-gap” solution? Also, in regards to interiors we were told, “ not at launch”. After pre-sales occurred, we were told not at all. Just a couple clarifications.
Fine, I'll be more brutal.

If it is not in game, assume it will never happen. Welcome to real life. You do not get everything you want.

Not this DLC, maybe not, but ship interiors were said to be a thing.
By OP, no less.
You realise that your reply to me proves you agree that FD has never lied or been deceitful about interiors, right? And you also void your complaints?

Good job shooting down your own argument.

Ah I love it when people willfully ignore the important point, such as THERE IS NO INTERIOR.

Look, I'd love interiors as much as the next guy.

But they were never part of Odyssey. Contrary to what people think, there is ZERO EVIDENCE that interiors were ever on the table for Odyssey.

Before you post that video of Braben, no, it NEVER meant that there was any kind of commitment to have interiors arrive with FPS in one DLC/expansion/patch.

I am sorry, but I am sick of this community making things up.

FD never, ever so much as hinted at interiors for this DLC.

Honestly? Time to get over it. Yes, it IS your fault for ignoring what we were told.
Did you forget multi-quote was a thing?

Because multi-quote is a thing. Making multiple posts like you have makes you seem way to into yourself. Careful you don't drown in your own reflection.

Aside from the devs one of the more prominent CMs saying there's no plans for ship interiors because no gameplay?
Or do you have a selective memory and conveniently forgot about that tid-bit?

You do not get to tell me how to use this forum. There is a post cooldown, I abided by it.

I see no problem with how I posted. 🤷‍♂️

At no point did I say that there is a fully fleshed out interior. The ship has a hatch/airlock on the outside, a stop gap is simply walking up to it, choosing the option to board the aforementioned vessel and then fade to black, reappearing in your pilots seat in the one part of the ship that has an interior, namely the cockpit. I can't believe that I've had to explain this in simple terms. A glass of water could have understood my post.

The blue circles and magic teleport must go.

Eh, details.

Honestly mate, people here are too obsessed with immersion.

If that was how it was handled, there'd be a forum crusade over another "shortcoming".

People here want "the perfect game."

That is never going to happen. I think I am enjoying this game as is for one key reason: I get that games have to cut things and make concessions.

And crucially, I no longer lose sleep over things that don't make sense.

Basically, you are fussing over something that really does not matter.

If there were a fancy cargo hatch animation, it would still just be a fade to black, but with extra steps.

It would "solve" nothing. (Not that there is anything that needs solving)

And thanks for reminding me, have not had a glass of the H2O for a few hours now.

Counterpoint: Whichever is most efficient at letting one get on with ones current grind goals is sufficient, as exercising ones imagination in as many daily activities as possible keeps ones mind sharp.
I lowkey think that is exactly why it was done this way.

Not exactly a secret that this game's playerbase is obsessed with getting things done as quickly as possible.

What is the point of playing a video game that has no immersion?

I can play Pac Man or Super Mario for that. ED have gone to the trouble of building an accurately modelled galaxy so immersion is presumably important to them otherwise what is the point?

I think you are trying to defend the indefensible, if you haven't already then perhaps you should consider practicing law.

if you find anyone who says there are no problems.. well they need to be sanctioned for their own safety, counter to this people who fail to accept any positives should probably also look into maybe taking a breath and a step back, the strange feeding frenzy of negativity is draining for everyone and far from helping resolve issues or bringing new problems to light merely muddies the water, forcing players away from the forums and eventually away from the game
True, and I have literally seen a grand total of zero people claiming there are no issues or bugs with ED either now or at any point in the past, in these forums and Reddit.

But railing against self-imagined things is a proud tradition here. :)

Kinda of a bold concept for a game made with kickstarter money based on promises of whats to come. Interiors were one of the carrots they dangled, were they not?
Something something 'Not this expansion~'
This expansion would be perfect for it. At long last the super-glue has worn off from our butts (SRVs don't count, they use the same chair and sticks) and we can walk about. Best place to start is the big piece(s) of machinery you've been in for so long, no?

FD give us thick colored atmos as in Odyssey trailers!
At least it would be nice to know your intentions on that matter since those trailers sold the game to me and others!

I get the part that optimization takes time so i don't complain about that but things you advertised in those trailers should be on your "to do list" and it is fair at least communicate that with customers.

Are you seriously likening video game mechanics to something that is actually important?

Indefensible?

Bro, it's a spaceship video game.

Again, welcome to real life.

Sucks, don't it?

I mean I would have thought you of all people, a PlayStation user, would understand how easily FD is able to say "nope" and never deliver.

Game devs are not your friends, not even if you backed a kickstarter. Seriously, I think it is downright bonkers to put money in concepts like that. But hey, what do I know? I have to be smart with how I spend my cash. 😂

Well I was raised to keep my promises, to live by them in fact. If people promise and don't deliver that becomes a guide to their character. We all feel let down by FD their corporate character is lacking in virtue to say the least. To the guys at the top that might not mean a lot but to their client base it's the final straw that broke the camel's back. We've literally had years of broken promises and piecemeal development leaving us less than impressed, underwhelmed in fact.

Hmm. We are on a forum dedicated to a spaceship video game in a thread discussing the topic of that games future started by the account of the founder & CEO of the company that made that spaceship video game.

So whether it's important or not in the wider construct of our lives, it is certainly one of the more important topics on this forum.

I think I would probably put 'playing this spaceship video game' in one of the top three tiers of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, something important to one who has their more basic needs covered. Probably not much self-actualisation for most of the time but more than just a social space too.

Yeah it's always a treat when someone tries to derail the conversation with "is this really important in the Grand Scheme of Things?" Like yeah, we know; and you're disqualified from making that argument by dint of being here and commenting at all.
