Morning Governor o7

Big fan of my Cobra - Kai and the Dolphin - Flipper (not of the sound not the sound of the Dolphin tho - like millions of dolphins suddenly crying out and....wheezing). Been using the Cobra for combat and mission running faction rep work and the dolphin for mining, station rescues, and space box trucking. At some point I'm gonna get out of the small ships but I can do most things in game I want across combat, trading, and exploring. Current goal is to wrap up the last of Imperial rank head back to Shin Dez and go on a bit of a shopping spree.

In garden news first batch of tomatoes are jarred up after the storm delay. Hoping the cucumber plants have enough cukes by this weekend for some pickles.

And I have to say I do like the look of the cybertruck in a halo meets battlezone kinda way.
I'll have a Moloko Plus, please...
And you have a Cobra Kai... I see what you did there. :D

At the minute I think the battery tech is almost but not quite there for a lot of makers. GM are recalling all EV models because of battery issues, and makers like Tesla have had problems with fires as well.

I'd be interested in knowing how battery tech deals with crashes these days :D

solid state batteries solve the fire issue. There are a couple chemistries that are coming to market soon that are supposed to be fairly revolutionary. They're supposed to be commercially available in EV cars in 2-3 years. well before i plan on purchasing another car.

"Those 50 pages I have missed will stay lost in time forever, like tears in rain."

they do.

the tesla lets you customize theirs. and most sound like a space ship ...because that's the sound they're designed to make specifically for that purpose...not due to any kind of mechanical or electrical consequence.

only the 1st gen or diy's are silent at slow speeds.
Good. But. My experience to date says none of them do. Not even very new ones from major Japanese manufacturers.

As an aside, such noises must be mandatory, with no driver option to disable, and I'd suggest the noise/pitch/volume needs to be 100% consistent across all makes and models and not customizable. (Gawd alone knows what Brother Hat would choose!)

i hear them all the time with prius's around here and other hybrids when in battery mode. They sound like jetson cars. Tesla's i believe are customizable and may be something you can just have off.

I dont know if there is a written law saying it has to make noise when traveling below a certain speed federally...(us)

Continuous, full blast, pair of air horns?

If there is one "safe" thing about my grandma teReSa (because it's an old Audi RS4) it's that I definitely won't surprise hit any pedestrian entering the street carelessly because he did not hear me driving there.

given how ubiquitous earphones are for people out and about walking.. I'd just assume i had to avoid pedestrians by not driving into them. Rather than rely on them avoiding walking in front of me.

Seems to have served me well. 0 Vehicular homicides

Would definitely have air horns for the moment when heavy braking is required.

Around town in built up areas, I might choose the "sexy but also rather dirty" growling tone, with a possible addition of a wolf whistle at unexpected times.

I intend to give this more thought though!
