Some of our gankers have actual skill. Though I did run little experiment once. Made Shinrarta run with non-engineered sidewinder, got exploded shortly. Made same run in engineered FdL, it was peacefull experience
There's an important distinction between PvPers and outright griefers or gankers...although those examples aren't mutually exclusive. Pad gankers are the lowest of the low in Star Citizen, there's no real equivalent in ED...perhaps the suicide Sidewinders at stations during a CG and always prevalent outside Jameson at Shirarta Dezhra

Never been attacked there in a Clipper, Orca, Viper or Cobra. I think the gankers take one look, consider the top speed of those ships, and just don't bother.
I noted a rather blunt and pointed mention by Rich Tyrer during the last ISC video where he commented on the changes being brought to the development style within Ci¬G now being less bogged down by internal red tape, I took that as a hint of some long awaited freedom from CR's incessant micromanaging the project leading to the PU being starved of dev resources in favour of his own pet project.
I can't find that bit, but would that relate to CR? It seems like things are going the other way for Rich's gameplay team. (IE he's 'SQ42 first' in all things now, and CR seems to be pointed in a 'SQ42 first' direction himself ). Could apply more broadly though for sure if CR's being prised away from a central vetting role.
I also noted he made not one mention of Turbulent's recently increased involvement with the PU but rather markedly stuck to talking around only what Ci¬G was... or wasn't... doing...but that's just me reading between the lines again.
Whatever has happened at Ci¬G, it's been pretty big. With Turbulent seemingly being given the job of taking up the slack and concentrating on strictly PU content
Although it seems they're primarily on assets, with just as few tasks with designers attached:
They're all art teams alone, with the exception of these 3:
Bit weird for there to be no engineers etc attached to any of that. Makes me wonder if they're just designing locations for existing gameplay primarily.
But the 'Tier 0' tag on Hospitals does kinda suggest that they're going to be the 'stuff for now' guys in the PU. While the true miracles are performed over in SQ42 land...
I guess the SQ42-friendly doctors & nurses stuff lined up for 3.15 is what's supposed to fill the scenes they're building:
If Turb really are the PU heroes for now though, then there's a bit of a gap until their next novel content. Building Interiors and Derelict Spaceship POI scheduled for Q2 2022...
(But hey long way to go. Let's see if 3.15 even goes live in Q3 first )
Just had a funny vision of the future in relation to the Firesprite takeover.
If Sony cancel Firesprite's involvement (maybe they won't of course, if CIG are paying and are willing to continue paying....) then CIG will be faced with continuing development of ToW or not (you remember, that small game mode that wasn't taking much in the way of resources).
If that happens, i look forward to CR getting up on (virtual) stage at CitizenCon to tell the faithful that ToW isn't actually needed anymore because ToW already exists in the PU!
Narrative incoming : Firesprite's material wasn't up to Chris' standard of fideliciousity, everything has been trashed and a new team has been in-house to brainstorm how it can be given to Turbulent once in-house work will be trashed because reasons.
Don't see this changing much for the ToW contract though. Seems like that's signed and sealed and has to be delivered. (If Firesprite were the publisher then Sony could march in and cut projects for sure. But reckon they'll have to honour existing ones.)
Odds of Firesprite phoning in their offering just increased though

Yeah I finally had a look into their PU team, and it does look possible:

Turb do have a fair share of engineers in their midst...just looking back to that 'meet the gang' video of recent times, there were 3 engineers among that lot alone. They've also been tasked with producing planets or systems...outside of the small location stuff we're currently seeing. I'm certain once they get properly fired up we'll be hearing more about them with a connection to the PU.
Hey Intrepid, the robot is Vincent, (was it V.I.N.C.E.NT?) from the movie 'The Black Hole' - EDIT, Ninja'd by the Soviet Troll Agony Aunt of the Fuzzy Bears!
I clearly pointed out early in my post that what I was saying did not apply to all SC backers, far from it and of course it is possible to enjoy something for what it is, be that a game or something else. But...and this is a big caveat for me - there is far too much pretence amongst some SC backers that everything is great when it clearly isn't, there is an extraordinary amount of 'nothing to see here' posts when some pretty fundamental parts of what CIG have been working on for a DECADE is still nowhere near 'in game'.
I know you're a fan Intrepid and I*m sure you are big enough and ugly enough to make your own decisions irrespective of what I type here but some of your fellow backers - maybe you too - have given Roberts not an inch but a bloody mile and he has taken ten in return and we are still counting. If you aren't urinated off that you haven't played SQ42, when one of the clown brigade had done a full run through what was it 3, 4 years ago? that your game CTD's or 30k's far too often, that icache and server meshing are a load of old Horlix then why not? Either you have been lied to or CIG have failed to deliver far from insignificant chunks of the game you backed, of content they assured you that you would have by now. Why doesn't that bother you? Why doesn't that aggravate you? Why don't you feel conned, let down, betrayed at all?
I haven't even mentioned the litany of bugs, glitches and '2 steps forward, 3 back' patch approach of CIG, this is what is perplexing a lot of us who either got out or are on the outside looking in Intrepid. Because a lot more of you should not only be upset/angry but properly expressing said upset/angry because that, just like sunk cost fallacy is the natural human reaction to being let down, shafted and lied to on many occasions irrespective of whether it's a major life event or something relatively trivial like gaming.
