Downloading data makes all nearby (tens of meters) instant agro.

I disabled the alarms and proceeded to start a download. I was not crouched, but no NPC was directly looking to me
However the 3 workers that were within 30-50 meters in the same building, even those not on the same floor and with no direct line of sight, plus a couple of guards that were just outside the building - all of them became agro and rushed to kill me.
Actually they tried and failed, but that not the point here :)

This one change should be reconsidered, seriously.

Yep, sorry I JUST did a reply to this thread that I'm looking into it. Thanks so much for the details feedback! Seen lots of it and this is a cherry on the top.

Suggestion for a compromise... keep the act illegal but only raise the alarm if the NPC is looking in your direction at the point which you hit download. If they are looking away or not in their cone of vision and you start the download that would be better.

Like in real life if you were to slip a nefarious USB into a PC to steal data

Also, there is still the weird graphic bug that was present in previous patches, where the planetary surface goes really low-res in a short distance around you after calling a Apex taxi. Objects like rocks etc. are fine, it's the actual surface itself. Trying to find a tracker issue for it but you know what it's like trying to find stuff on there...

My expectations were exceeded by this patch. "I wonder how much will be broken". Turned out a fair bit (but really, not all that bad numbers wise (unless you're talking PA damage stats)).
  • Carrier cargo transfers.
  • Carrier limpet purchases (related?).
  • Engineering (in general).
  • Weapons stats.
  • SRV Radar heights.
  • Missing interdiction UI.
  • Market transactions (double profit).
There may be some I missed. Note, I specifically left out the downloads and rocket NPCs because they're by design (even if unpopular). So really, while quite significant errors, not that bad compared to the number of things fixed.

OK, Can not access anything in Fleet Carrier Menus. Nothing selectable. Can not even change ships. Really?

Because IRL laws about such heinous crimes as parking in the wrong place and downloading or owning cats are not as subtle and sophisticated as they are in-game.

And I can see Odyssey making big jumps forward and stumbling back a few paces each jump. While frustrating, things are oh so very much better than they were at release :)

Hmm, I thought it was more subtle before - where you had to do different stuff when d/ling legal/illegal stuff. Now there's just one rule - 'don't get caught'. Which is fine, but I would like to know why it's been simplified 🤷‍♀️
