🍁Update 1.7 and North America Animal Pack Out Now!🍁

Playing with the beavers.....I used the stone wall barrier. the map sayes ; well done, there will be no escaping.
And my little guy is swimming right through the wall....
Guess it is the same thing as with the otters.

But they ware really adorable!

This is AWESOME!
I was playing all day, making some nice habitats for the moose and the cougar and I'm just excited how beautiful these animals are done (the others will look beautiful, too - I'm sure, but I haven't seen them yet :D) And finally the source zoo bug in the trade centre has been fixed! THANK YOU! <3

New bug as of this update educators get stuck in the staff room and wont leave anymore until you fire them, had to fire all my educators and hire new ones only for it to happen again. Cant move them either as that option is grayed out. Hope this gets fixed fast, decided to stop playing for now.

I haven't gotten to play with the new update/DLC yet, but I've been watching footage from it and I think my suspicions have been confirmed: this is hands down the best update/DLC release we've seen to date, and it's going to be very difficult to dethrone.

But I'm sure Frontier is up to the task.

Great Update and animal Pack!!! But a separate scenery and building pieces pack would have been a great idea too ☺

And is it possible to get the kerbs or barriers in round in three different sizes for trees, pillars, bins etc? That would be perfect🥳

Finally, the beavers don't escape anymore. lol. Just saw the female using the beaverpool. That too is so well done!! Thumbs up here too!

Does anyone know what number the shade of gray is to be level with the rest of the map?

Thanks for the great update and the nice DLC.

I haven’t had the chance to really play the pack yet but this update and pack look amazing! Thanks for adding the biomes and changing the babirusa and elephants names and adding kangaroos as a walkthroughs. I love the quality of life improvements! I’m happy I finally got the ability to play the game again and once I get home imma play it and love every second!

ONE THING: please Frontier allow the gator to live in big groups of adults. As a Floridian I can say that everywhere in captivity they have them in huge groups and they’re very tolerant in real life!

Thanks for the great update and the nice DLC.
Try those:

Neutral Grey Color Codes
Hex Code#828382
RGB Values(130, 131, 130)

In some apps, you can also create a layer or fill with 50% gray.

ETA: And of course you could just level one of the ready-made PZ tif maps. Just save it under a new name in the user map folder.

I don't know if this has been noticed or addressed yet but in the American Alligator info panel it says salwater crocodile in some of the flavor text. Great update and pack though, loving it.

[edited the message cause the previous one was WAAAAAY too rude]
I really, really loved the North America Animal Pack, it's super fun with great animals, the enrichment items and the new behaviors are great, and it may even be my second favorite DLC out of all (sorry, nothing can beat Aquatic Pack to me). Anyway, I noticed a few things that maybe could be fixed in a later 1.7.1 update:
1) the texture on the alligator's snout looks a bit weird, almost not finished (but the Gator is still one of my absolute favorites in this Pack).
2)the alligators can't be housed in larger groups than 2 individuals; this kind of bothers me, I'd love to put 5 or more alligators in the same group without having to turn off the welfare
3) the 2-meter deep swimming sometimes doesn't really work... For example, sometimes the animals fail to detect the deep-swimming area, but that's not really a huge problem. I'm glad we got changes to the deep swimming system!
4) I was hoping to get the Dry Stone wall pieces that we saw in the trailer, but they were never announced or anything so I don't really mind not getting them
Overall, I think this is one of the BEST Packs we ever got in this game. When I discovered this was going to be an Animal Pack, I was already kind of disappointed, but this turned out to be absolutely AMAZING. Thank you, Frontier.

Ok so here are my thoughts on the North America Animal Pack. Overall I found it extremely disappointing and not worth the money.
1) the texture on the alligator, especially on the snout, looks unfinished.
2)the alligators can't be housed in larger groups than 2 individuals; we were all asking for this, but Frontier didn't listen to us. AGAIN.
3) I don't like the Sea Lion model, it simply looks off to me.
4) the Sea Lion swims exactly like the Grey Seal, the movements are exactly the same.
5) the Beaver pool enrichment item is just laughable. I mean, what is THAT?!
6) the Beaver recycles a lot of. Animations from the Otter, especially in the swimming part.
7) the Underwater PLANT Feeder still has fish coming out of it.
8) the 2-meter deep swimming is a broken mess, and it doesn't work at all with most of the animals that SHOULD be able to.
9)the Dry Stone wall pieces that we saw in the trailer are nowhere to be found.
10) the signs are just ugly.
Overall, I think this is one of the worst Packs we ever got in this game. After Aquatic Pack, the quality of the DLCs has dropped significantly, and this is no exception. The game's lifespan should have ended with Aquatic Pack a year ago, Planet Zoo was already getting old back then and now well... It's just painful to see what it has become. So PLEASE Frontier, let this game die, it's time to move on.
Do you not like the NA pack or do you not like PZ in general?
I'm asking because I doubt anyone who enjoys playing this game would say that the support should have ended almost a year ago. Most people are clamouring for content until at least 2023 lol.
It would seem as if you just don't like the game or the dev team. That's fair and legit, but its paradoxical that you complain about the new content and at the same time wish that the updates/DLCs would have stopped after the Aquatic pack. If you find the game development so disheartening, maybe it's just not a game you enjoy.

1) The texture unfinished? I could agree to some extent about the snout, but the overal texture is as good as it can be for a 2020 videogame.
2) True. But you can't say Frontier don't listen to us for this one minor thing. If anything, this update and DLC have incorporated some of the most requested fixes, placeable items and animals to this date.
3) I think the model (particularly the male one) isn't totally accurate, but maybe you should be more specific about what should be improved?
4) How are sea lions supposed to swim? They swim very similarly irl too. The biggest difference is when they move on land.
5) You don't have to use it if you don't like it. It's a more natural version of the pool we had with the Australian pack update. More natural-looking enrichment is something that has been extensively requested. Frontier listened. AGAIN.
6) And again, the beaver swimming animations are in the middle ground between otters and capybaras. The main differences with the otters is that beavers are a bit slower and that they don't generally perform "acrobatic" movements but other than that they don't swim very differently irl. From a dev perspective, making a complete overhaul of the diving system uniquely for beavers would be very time consuming and not efficient just to get a similar end-result.
7) Haven't used this one myself but if that's the case it should and will be adressed soon.
8) They took their time to adjust this (9 months for some of the animals?). They stated that there were some technical limitations and that for some animals they were on the limit on what could be possible without animals glitching. I believe most of us can live with not a 100% perfect system as long as animals dive with 2m depth.
9) Now this is really strange, not gonna lie. On Frontier's defense though, they never promised that nor put it in the update/DLC notes. Probable content for a future update?
10) I guess they're not your cup of tea but simply saying that "something is ugly" doesn't really help the argument. Just an opinion with no justification.

Hard disagree with the poster ‘The aardvark’. I think the animal quality improved amazingly and this DLC is full of love from the devs. Each animal has so many new animations which makes them unique from their similar counterparts. Beavers swimming the same as otters? From what I have seen, its different. It might be similar in a way that similar shaped animal moves in a water, but blame evolution for that. Same with the sea lion. It is understandable that the devs are using similar animations on animals where it can be aplicable. For example it looks a bit weird on Orangutan using gorilla animation but the sea lion using seal swimming animations does not look out of place at all.

And I love the new animal signs, love that their are all united in one style with a light hearted stylization.

Frontier please make more!

So, I can't provide first hand experience with the new content as I underwent surgery yesterday, but while hospitalized, I can watch everything on Youtube in peace 😄 I am SO, SO eager to play now! Initially, I wasn't too hyped for North America and only cared for the Sea Lion and the Moose, as I felt I needed them most in my zoos. But I'm now so happy for every new species that came with the pack, I'm happy it is an animal pack again and the footage I've seen looks super convincing. Plus the free update brings some things I really appreciate A LOT (zoopedia update above all, animal talk seating, guest barriers). So I'll buy the pack without hesitation as soon as I get my hands on my computer again!
