No. Most of ,,top tier,, animals wont make into the game anyway. Its like suggestion for them. Frontier ultimately decide what region they want to visit next, so every animal has it's chance.
Actually, it depends entirely on how far they go, they can extend the game support for a couple of years. I even think that's likely to happen because:
1- There are plenty of excellent pack ideas to be used.
2- There's always the possibility of them implementing a whole new mechanic that can potentially extend the game support duration, like aviaries or aquariums (i still think that they're going to make a brand new tycoon game for the latter, like a Planet Aquarium)
3- Unlike other games, PZ has an almost unlimited source for DLCs and Packs, since there are millions of species of all kinds of animals in the world, therefore can last very long.
4- I don't see in the following years Frontier releasing or planning on a sequel, unless they wanna put those revolutionary mechanics in a sequel, like they have done in JWE 2.

You can add 5 more animals if you want!
You also have Asian Small-Clawed Otter listed twice.

Not sure if it’s the flow, lashes, or look she’s giving — but red river hog Charlotte is looking fierce! 🔥

Please remember about her creating your wonderfully creative lists 🤩

You know an animal that I'm surprised that doesn't have more votes is the Bat Eared Fox. Maybe people are more like "if we get another fox it needs to be the red fox" or they feel it's too similar to the fennec fox. I think they're cute but they barely have any votes (and they aren't in my top 20 list either, though they're very close to it)

I love foxes, but yeah if there's gonna be another fox in game I think my preference would go to the icon and world renowned red fox.

which makes sense. The Red Fox has a lot of votes. I do think Frontier would really do well to release a pack consisting of some of the more requested "common" animals and it could definitely headline a pack.

Little bit from column A, little bit from column B. The red fox is without a doubt the most important fox at this point (personally, it was always my top choice). But even then, there's a handful of other canids that I'd prefer to see first. The raccoon dog is my #1 favorite animal not in the game already, the maned wolf is too popular to ignore, and at that point there's still the bush dog and even the black-backed jackal that would be much more unique, if only superficially in the latter's case. I'd even argue that the gray fox, with its unique proclivity for climbing, would be a more suitable fourth fox after the red fox. Heck, I'd even prefer the coyote first since it's a local species. I know that one's not a particularly popular pick, though.

Don't get me wrong, though, I love canids and foxes in particular. In a perfect world I'd include them all, and I could never be disappointed if the bat-eared fox made it in. It's just low priority among canids for me.

My favorite of all the foxes especially for it’s simplicity in making the shared species exibits and walk in habitats. It’s a perfect zoo animal.

I have seen them mixed with Red River hogs, Warthogs, Porcupines, Mongooses and Aardvarks.

I really like the red fox or Racoon dog but have never seen one in a zoo.

On the other hand Bat eared foxes are quite common now in Europe.

Important to say that the bat eared fox is not a "real" fox (Vulpes) at all. Systematically the racoon dog is closer to the "real" foxes than the bat eared fox. The same can be said about the grey fox which is even more far away from the "real" foxes and even more far away than the "real" dogs like wolfs from foxes.

The zoo nearest me has them in a habitat with Ruppel's griffon vultures. It's one of the main reasons I'm so hopeful that if we do get aviaries, we'll be able to mix the aviary birds with traditional terrestrial animals. Granted, in the I believe 4 times I've been since they've gotten their bat-eared foxes, I've only seen them once.

Zootierliste suggests that both the red fox and raccoon dog are considerably more common in European zoos than bat-eared foxes if I'm reading it right, though. I mean of course that has no bearing on what you have or haven't seen yourself, just thought that was interesting. On the other hand, only one zoo in the entire US currently has raccoon dogs to my knowledge, Oklahoma City. Atlanta did until both of theirs passed away last year, and they had bush dogs until recently as well, but now both species are gone and have been replaced with the much less charismatic maras. Oh well, I still like maras.

I believe that zootierliste is right but it also count animal parks which I do not consider zoo’s per se.

Red foxes are common species in Europe’s wildlife and local zoo’s don’t keep that kind of species anymore or they are quite rare. I think it’s similar to keeping raccoons in nearly all European facilities and them being not so common and mandatory in the US.

Bat eared foxes on the other hand, along with fennec foxes are the most common fox species you can encounter in many facilities around here and they represent foxes very well in my opinion. Bat eared foxes even better since they look much more like typical fox that people imagine when they think of foxes. Plus their cute factor and gentle behavior which is undeniable.

And it’s not that I don’t want red fox. I would love to have them both.

I’ll quote myself from another thread:

Although some might make a cultural distinction between a “Zoo” and a “Wildpark” according to German law, zoos are “permanent establishments in which live animals of wild animal species are kept for a period of at least seven days a year”. No distinction is made between the different kinds of collections.

A note for those who might not be familiar with the term that a Wildpark is a wildlife park concept common in Germany and other countries where most - but definitely not always all - species are native to Europe along with interesting domestic breeds.

So a Wildpark is indeed a zoo, as is a bird park, a safari park, a petting zoo, a wildlife park or a reptile park. As long as animals are contained and people go to see them, it’s a zoo.
