I'm Back :)

New home for a while...

If you purposely let a power on mission expire and it leaves you with the power regulator, does it count towards the count for your suit upgrades?

In the aboce, I had three obtained as mission rewards but two from failed missions.
If you want to be a Galactic Punk, you dont need to wait it out. After the regulator is in your greasy mitts, you just abandon the mission. They cant take it back since you are already in the lift sniggering your way to your ship.

Due to how crucial power regs were in the initial suit upgrade grind, I still have the habit of wasting that 3-5 mins after I had wasted the whole base to extract the regulator most times. The time is not worth the 150k it fetches but .... need...power regulators....

On foot controls:
1/.Emote wheel, do I need it? Is this just for other players?
2/.Any way to set deadzones for the DS4 sticks?
(All of my DS4s have left stick creep).

Found it!

Update: Well, completed the training mission, probably gonna stick with the default controls untill I've got more time.

Can't believe they pick you up in a Cobra IV.

Yes. Just pay the 100k fine and off you go.
Be aware that if you fail a on foot mission. The Feds will look into your stores and confiscate all the stolen power regs. So use them as soon as you can... 🤟👍👀

Right now i'm flying to Hutton Orbital for the first time (10 mins to go and started to slow down (1,343 c and falling)). I'm not sure how or why i ended up doing this, but i think i just had the idea to explore and map the systems around Sol to practice my 'exploration' skills? I don't regret it, but it put's things into perspective for when 'we' in real life want to explore our closest stellar neighbour!

I've been reflecting on the last few weeks in game. A few weeks ago I'd engineered the Winking Cat's iCourier with enhanced performance thrusters and fixed pulse lasers and having heaps of fun in RES's. Its a lot like my memories of the 1984 game to be fighting with fixed hardpoints and it made me realise how much fun combat could be, and how lazy I had become simply getting myself on to target.
I turned a nice profit on the Alcor CG but ultimately ended up in Colonia. I engineered modules there for the Krait MkII I left at home, my other project being a 'stealth' DBS. I don't think 'stealth' was working well against npcs, they have great eyesight but it taught me loads about heat management working with (fixed weapons again) rails and attacking modules.
All this ends on my return to the bubble in Reorte. Well the CG was fun, could have lasted a little longer. But I can now appreciate so much of what is 'wrong' with my CG Krait MkII. It needs more engineering including thermal vent and whatever I can do to penetrate to core modules more effectively. I could spend a while engineering.
But I've also got a Jumpaconda in mind for those 6A FSDs and I'd like to visit some of those audio log sites, and I never finished playing with the iCourier or stealth DBS. Too much to do.

...So I now have a badly setup Vulture.

Tried to set it up following others builds, but needed a wake scanner for engineering mods that put it over power budget.
I dropped a shield bank and got the power budget fixed.. It's only short term, and I can remove it later.

Initially I was getting really bored wake scanning, but after 30 mins or so, realised, this is one quick puppy, and handles like a go-kart on steroids.
I can lock and scan a target in seconds, and get within 2k scan range very quickly - Is this a sign of things to come bounty hunting?

Stay tuned...

You can set your non-combat related modules to 5, such as Fuel Scoop, Cargo Hatc, FSD etc, so they shut down when weapons are deployed, same thing for a second Shield Cells Bank, disable it, then swap when the first one is empty.

All my ships are set up this way, including unarmed Krait Phantom and Pythons, this way you can allocate more power per module.

I still pretty new, so need to research power management - I did a rough tweak, and seems to work ok.
Once I get some engineering, I'll mod the build again.

I May build a bubble bus DBX? just for farming mats and components - does that make sense?

Just like you, I learned from someone else, it's good to have people around who have experienced things and are willing to share them.

DBX? Absolutely. Great bubble jumper.
Outfit with scanners, SRV, small laser, small cargo rack.

One of my most used ships after the Corvette.
