Constant crash.

Started yesterday and is ongoing. Games crashes from 30 sec to 2 min into startup. Cant play anymore. Worked perfectly 2 days ago, and nothing changed on my end.
Sent in crashreport every time, and also a bugreport.

Can u give a bit more info. Alot of folks here will defo get you up n running.
Your spec
Odyssey or horizons?
Have you changed anything? Location of pc or perhaps a fans failed? Heat issues.
Or are you overclocked etc etc?

  • Stability issues with logging into the game at the main menu with Odyssey.
    • I've been collecting Commander IDs for instances whereby the game is unable to be launched and causes a crash.
    • There was an issue whereby once this crash ocurred, the player could not submit formal crash reports, however this has since been resolved. Please do continue now to submit a report using the usual report method each time it's encountered.
Throw your in-game username in this thread and maybe ping the CM who posted it.

It was Thursday when the crashes started to happen.
Worked fine Thursday morning, but around 1 am (uk time) when i started the game back up, the problems started.

If by "startup" you mean that you are able to actually get into game from main menu, then maybe try to move away from where you are (like quickly jump to another system f.ex). If there's something that causes those crashes there, it might be a temporary solution.

If you're unable to even start the game and you get the crash duiring loading screen, then... i don't know.

Tried that, but crashes before i can jump out of the station. Currently at Robigo in Hauser's Reach.

What might be worth s try is reset your graphics settings xml file (rename it or move it to your desktop temporarily), just to see if the game boots then.

I've had issues where the game kept crashing when I went in-game, and it had to do with 'optimal graphics settings' I got from youtube at some point. The issue was that it had settings that the new engine seemed to choke on, so after moving the file away the crashing stopped.

Edit: I'm not behind my PC so I cant check the exact path to the file, but I'm hoping others here might be able to give you the exact location should you need it.

Working again. Not sure what fixed it. Did a verification yesterday thru steam, and that did not fix anything. Tested the launcher verify today, and after that it works.
The problem is that i did not try to launch odessey before i did the verification and as it don't tell me if it did find any problems, I'm not shure if that fixed it or if something on Frontier's end did.
And just to clarify, I have not restarted my pc or changed anything from when i had the problems.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. Except verifying the files through launcher did not help. Well Horizons still works.

MSI GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Same as mine. Do one thing, go to the Nvidia control pannel. Click on "Help" then activate Debug Mode. See how it goes. You will have to do this every time you restart the PC, Debug mode does not stick.

Thanks, but did not make any difference. Only wanted to check if the new update improved VR fps. Maybe I wait for ZEN 4 until next time launching the game.
