@SCiARA btw mate, I want the game to be released on console so they have access to odyssey too.

I know this might be a bit of a random post out of the blue (and hopefully nobody reports it), but I've known you for a long time and I don't want you to get the wrong impression of my opinion!

Granted there are a few people from the console users who bemuse me an awful lot, but not yourself, and like you I wish that FD would communicate what they are doing or at least planning!

Anyway, probably should have pmd you, but thought there is pertinence to this being posted openly too, as I suspect some of the aforementioned think I am anti console which is very unfair. Ironically in lieu of this thread, I think everyone is jaded by the op and the unspoken messages within the context.

Anyhoo, just wanted to clarify to you so you aren't under the wrong impression of me, as you're an old forum friend; and I think it helps to publicise my opinion on the off topic issue as well :)

hey I've been around long enough to get you and take no offence from your communications!
some fellow console users bemuse me too tbf but then that can be said about some of the pc users, I don't think its exclusive one way or the other

for me the lack of communication on consoles hasn't helped and is the main reason for the divide between user bases, its why people get at each other so quickly on here

I'm just coming along for the ride

Good man - I am pleased that you realize I am a loony when it comes to communication! ;)

I think you make an incredibly pertinent point though about there being some pc players who are equally as 'strange', to be very polite about it! But your point about lack of communication, and the stonewalling we all get regardless of platform, really adds to the bad feels that has been circulating in recent months.

People making up scare stories and fantastical statistics don't help either, but I guess that's a personal bugbear in relation to the lack of communication really. Still, I hope they sort out this fiasco really.

I doubt any announcements will happen before the 25th though to be honest, then there will be a deluge of info followed by a new wave of discontent, which I imagine will have comedic connotations too! ;)

Glad you get me though old chap, just wanted to make sure as you're a good laugh! Plus it was an opportunity to express my position again, in case people think I am a master race acolyte!

Hopefully, the game's development won't be stopped by FD. I've just started playing again since last week, after a several months long break. I've decided to switch from Horizons to Odyssey, as I'm still in the far western part of the galaxy, still on my way back home from beagle point (DW2). The 'new' planets, the lighting, the 'search' for life-forms and geo-sites on planets' surfaces.....I love it. It's much better than in Horizons. During flight over the surface, it's a much better feeling of flying, the survaces are much better in resolution, even seen from orbit. It's great. After nearly a year of updates, I think, FD did a good job. I cannot speak for playing in the bubble and FPS-gameplay. I'm only talking about exploration.

I`ve been lurking for a long time now, and though I would chip in with my 2p for what its worth. 1st post, be gentle on me...

Putting the game development issues aside, the glaring issue with the comms is its baffling inconsistency. I find this the post puzzling part, because its so simple to fix and the easiest win for improving the relationship with the forum dwellers, and by extension, improve the customer feedback in the socials.

If you publicly say you are going to do something, either do it, or is there is a problem - post to tell us that. Just stop leaving things to go quiet!

If this rule was followed consistently, I`m sure 30-40% of the noise would simply go away.

This stuff around comms really isnt at all hard. Its actually very easy. But it does require attention, and I dont think its getting anywhere near enough from certain corners of the team. I have my theories about why this is, but I dont think forum rules permit that to be posted.

In short - Just please - stop shooting yourself in the foot. You have enough challenges to work through without creating new problems out of thin air.

I honestly think there's some bad news just around the corner, and I'm sure I'm not alone here. When the CMs here are totally absent for months without explaination, promised news updates just not happening, ED users being told not to ask questions in the FDEV news threads etc, it's hard not to think FDEV have given up on ED.

I posit that FDEV cannot optimise EDO anymore, and are winding up the franchise. And all it would take for me (and probably others) to change my mind is FDEV telling the users what's going on if they are continuing to work on EDO. Yet this seems to be beyond FDEV.

I'll repeat my question from a week ago; what are the CMs doing? They're certainly not engaging with the community, so what are they doing? The other titles have their CMs engaging with them. Have the ED CMs all resigned? Have they all been redeployed? We certainly don't know because besides a message from Sally saying she won't be available (at the same time as the rest of the CMs go quiet; hmmm) we haven't heard a bloody thing from FDEV.

When you fail to engage, Its a pretty obvious outcome that people will start coming to their own, less optimistic conclusions about whats happening. More avoidable problems.

I am kinda questioning this whole 'lack of communication' as well. The timing with year end, the new (now old?) communication plan from last summer just after the Odyssey release... And FDev does not even want to hear the voice of the Elite Dangerous customer on the main Fdev news thread. I wonder why? I think alot of other people are wondering as well. At least we are trying to engage. Fdev why are you not engaging with us?

Her Twitter feed does give some subtle hints about what's going on with her, it does seem unrelated (and I wish her all the best) so would be better to leave her out of this completely - no need for this.

I also nicked their warp core, so shouting "engage" is not going to work. 🙃 try sending out a long range communication bouy.
