Nah, it's your 100th landing on the same planet, and after 100,000 other players have already landed on that planet. Although some might call that the Buzz Aldrin moment. ;)
Yeah. I realize for the Elite case the Armstrong moment blue tube meme is well deserved, but I suspect Piers Jackson´s mention to that moment in the dev diaries has always been more of an evocative description for the first time we were going to actually be in first person outside our ships, look around, and have that new sense of relative scale. Depending on the right time, lighting, planet, environment sounds and music etc it may very well be an awesome experience. Something Elite’s Stellar Forge is extremely good at and that Star Citizen static fish bowl imo can’t really match. Either way your mileage was always going to vary.

Can't help but notice, in the last couple of weeks the funding tracker seems to be recording less money.

Wonder how many faithful backers were from Russia.... (and remember forum rules, no politics!).

That "SQ42 is just SC running locally" trope has always been suspicious to me, because it made no sense technically. First of all, the network infrastructure and topology of services behind SC is still in the prototyping phase and will be changing for years. Second, the more complex it is, running it all locally is more insane. Not that one cannot run a couple of server processes locally (one always can), but the unnecessary overhead would be painful for the CPU. Additionally, it would create an interesting conundrum - to maintain the same code base, would SQ42 be always updated to run the same infrastructure locally as current SC does?

SQ42 is loved. Really, deeply loved.

I mean, it is a pretty new term. I thought it meant when you magically appear in a sorta blue looking cylinder thing on a planet or moon surface under a space ship.
Its not that new - I coined it before FDev used it for their own copy ;) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/places-i-must-visit-in-vr.538633/post-8322052

Although back then it was just stepping out of the SRV with my VR headset on and I still do this to this day, because its awesome :)

Back on topic: how is VR getting on in Star Citizen? It was on the feature list once wasn't it?
