Have said it before, the forced online play in both SC and ED are deal breakers for me.

I would pay good money for a single player (as in, offline) Elite. So far Distant Worlds is the closest thing I have found, though obviously not from a first person or ship perspective.

Would I buy SQ404 if it were released tomorrow? Not without waiting for reviews. Even then, I was never a fan of Wing Commander even back in the day, so unlikely it would appeal to me. I like exploration and discovery in space games, not FMV pseudo-films made by aspiring directors with delusions of grandeur.

Why cant the bartender walk over to be infront of us so we can interact?
Or even have a chair in front of the bar tender so we can sit down while dealing with him/her/it/whatever?

I’m sad because I’ve been flying for seven years and still can’t buy a drink, and no one seems bothered that all bar tenders in the galaxy aren’t actually bar tenders!

It sure would be nice to be able to order a drink or better yet, a cocktail from the bartenders. Keep everything existing in the chat window, just add a non - trade selection.

It's immersive and add life to the verse.

Hate to break it to you but many of us who think SC is a farce also think Frontier have screwed up so I don't really know who you two are jabbing at?....the moderators?

I doubt we'd be here so much if we were playing ED so much.

I really like the bartenders in Cyberpunk 2077. I can buy drinks from them, sell loot back to them, some give missions, many can converse with you about their jobs and families, some can even be killed (many are in safe areas), and others you can greatly impact their lives through your actions and choices. And the characters look amazing in RTX. Cutting edge immersiveness, perfect for the current-gen of gaming hardware.

SC is way behind the times, even when the bartender works - which itself is rare due to well-known server and NPC problems.

10 years of subsumptive AI research in a nutshell. Hot air to conceal it's just a bunch of untalent who hired 3rd parties to make a shell of a game for them that they can talk up to gullible fools.

You should also ask Katie or Drew Wagar what they think about the released or not argument. It seems they haven't understood that being released is the only thing that matter for a game.

They don´t have to and, frankly, they probably don´t care much either. I mean, not doubting here that some may enjoy elements of SC or are even trying to conjugate that with their comercial interests, but weather the game is released or not, good, bad or ugly is irrelevant when a significant component of what matters for some of them may actually be more views, potential lore writing contracts or clicks in their web stores. From their particular interests ED is probably just a mature fully tapped market. Some of them dont even really "play" the game much. No need. Either way, godspeed with any potential comercial interests.
