New 25 essential habitat animals META-WISHLIST

None of those animals fit into the theme of this pack, except for perhaps the red river hog. But honestly those fit just as well in a tropical pack.

Right, the really popular, highly requested species don't fit this pack. Exactly.

My point is this pack is bad.

And there are 50 requested African species that were ignored.

My point was never "all the popular species from the metawishlist don't fit this wetland dlc."
Wetlands were dumb and limited PZ. Make a better dlc.

My point is...another African dlc would be overdone....but at least they are all HIGHLY, HIGHLY requested species....unlike this pack that isn't getting my money full price.

I know how requested african animals still are.

1) We have more african animals than any other continent.

2) Despite this we still got an african pack.

3) AND on this wishlist, African animals are by FAR the most popular species (overall).

Nile Lechwe....is like your dad driving you to Mcdonalds as a child and only buying a black coffee for himself.

Why that species? Who asked for it? And what about Red River Hogs, Fossa, African Gray Crane, Secretary Birds, Baboon, African Leopard, Kudu, Addax, Oryx, Jackal, Aardwolf, Honey Badger, Black Rhinoceros? What about the DOZENS of more popular species, the community has been asking for? Why were they ignored for an African antelope species NOBODY on this forum, or any forum has ever asked for...it baffles the mind.

That felt like, actively ignoring what people want. Like how dare the community have an opinion. PZ will tell us what's best.

People have been hating on the animals packs...have some awareness WHY THIS???
Nobody has ever said that meta wishlist is the only base of animal decision. In the end it is still the game of frontier and their developers. I am happy that we get by time surprises. In this case I think Nile lechwe and water buffalo fit perfect for the theme and were chosen because of that reason.

Edit: I am also not overwhelmed by the buffalo and the caiman but the rest of the pack are all animals I am absolutely happy to get them.

Yeah, the only thing I would change is the caiman...Roseate Spoonbill would be a fine addition. but two birds in one pack...the horror.

So yeah, any leopard is the most voted animal (cumulative, a Panthera pardus from South Africa to Siberia); if each leopard subspecies is accounted separately, Przewalski's horse is the most wanted species.

Nice, let's see what we get this summer.

I'm not sure what would make you happy then. Because you even said yourself another Africa pack would be overdone. Seems like nothing ever makes you happy. Has there been a single dlc you've enjoyed?

I’m fairly happy with the animals chosen for this new pack (even though only one animal on my list made it in.) The lechwe is not the worst antelope they could have picked; it’s gorgeous and it’s endangered, and we need more endangered animals since like… that’s what zoos are for. The water buffalo makes sense as well as its one of the first animals I think of when I think of asia, yet it was missing from the asia pack. The only thing I would have done was change the red-crowned crane to a grey-crowned crane or white-naped crane and the caiman to a shoebill or some other wetland bird.

I have my fingers crossed for a maned wolf in the next one, but I think what we really need (aside from aviaries) is a SSP pack. We’re missing a lot of animals that zoos have brought back from the brink of extinction, or are in the process of doing so. It would be a great educational tool for the importance of zoos, highlighting animals that need our help, and also would feature some of the animals at the top of this list. Amur leopards, przewalski’s horses, california condors, scimitar-horned oryxes, dama gazelles, and panama golden frogs are the first that come to mind.

Honestly, Africa's representation is fine except for birds, monkeys, and maybe a porcupine--even a second savannah rhino doesn't add much. South America is more lacking even with getting two habitat animals.

Oh, this could be fantastic.

Amur leopard
Przewalski's horse
Scimitar-horned oryx
Fossa
Golden lion tamarin
Secretary bird
Waldrapp ibis
Panamanian golden frog

Not for the price. But on sale I'll pick a dlc up.

I like SE Asia the most....because it had the most animals at the time. North America second most...but the formula got stale.

The dlc's are overpriced in my opinion when you're paying for imaginary animals.

It sounds like you're happy with whatever you get. Cool, you do you....

I also own every dlc...so get off your high horse. They got my money now take my feedback....make a better dlc.

Nobody asked for the nile lechwe. It's an awful choice and clearly PZ doesn't care what we write in the metawishlist.

They decided the most popular animal will make it....then went off the board with an animal NOBODY asked for...that's dumb.

Another Africa pack might have been done already, but that's because it's popular and people want those species....there's a good reason.

And to clarify....ANOTHER AFRICAN PACK WOULD SELL WAY BETTER than this mismash.

The African dlc 2 is a better idea.

Here's a list of animals JUST FROM AFRICA that people ACTUALLY ASKED FOR.
  • african leopard
  • red river hog
  • baboon/gelada
  • fossa
  • aye aye
  • secretary bird
  • marabou stork
  • gray crowned crane
  • serval
  • caracal
  • aardwolf
  • jackal
  • honey badger
  • kudu
  • oryx
  • addax
  • dromedary
  • shoebill
  • black rhinoceros
  • sifaka lemur
  • black and white colobus/mantled guereza
  • nile crocodile

What do ALL OF THESE ANIMALS HAVE IN COMMON????

They were ALL HIGHLY REQUESTED....and more popular than the AFRICAN NILE LECHWE.

You know, I like this waterbuck far more than I like your rants. Obscure animals end up being nice surprises, and there is no need to go for what everybody bands behind. Nice to see that the most requested animals are paid attention to get into the game, but, honestly, nobody is forcing you to buy anything. Or to be here.

Stop p***ing on everybody's parade.

I actually like the Nile Lechwe, and I never asked for it. It is important to consider that a lot of popular animals are mostly popular thanks to zoos, media, and previous games. So any new "obscure" animal in planet zoo will be high on the wishlist of kids that play PZ now, just like a lot of the adult player base wants to complete the zt2 roster.

The pick I actually don't really like is the Caiman. We already have an extremely similar species in appearence, habitat, distribution and behaviour. Seems like a wasted slot.

Agreed. Another thing to consider is that Planet Zoo also provides a platform to highlight more obscure animals not too many people knew about, which I assume would be the case with the Nile Lechwe. All the more important to raise attention when said animal is endangered.

(In that context, btw, I would have appreciated an Orinoco Crocodile over the Spectacled Caiman, but oh well.)

Numbers, people have different opinions. You are deeming everybody who disagrees with you a shill or a frontier worker.

I didn't know about this Kobus species until today. I liked it, better choice than a sitatunga as an aquatic antelope. Good to know of new animals. Like the newt, I wasn't familiar with that one.

Now, making every animal a mere popularity contest, and being utterly unpleasant about that? Uncalled for.

ANYWAY, our wishlists remain unchanged even if they are now losing a few wishes, right?
