What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Ah, the legendary Konig the Keeper King has returned

Orana park seems charming from their website.
It's not flashy, but it's home, if that makes sense. Been going there since I was little, worked there a little too.

They don't have much of a budget so it's cool to see what they've done with their space, and these days they're really putting effort into beautifying the place which is really nice. Lots of new gardens being planted and such, refurbishing their aviaries and so on.

They have a poor social media presence, though, half the time they get new animals and you never know until the next time you go. Like the addax and nyala, they just appeared one day. 😅

Ugh, I can tell you that simply everybody saves on their marketing ans communication these days. That's why I have so much time for PZ. Almost no clients. And then they wonder why THEY don't get new customers / clients / guests. I'm getting tired of it and the new 20's.

As a regular guests the surprises are probably fun though.

Love the map! One thing (if you’re interested) is that a lot of zoos use animal silhouettes instead of photos (though the photos look good too!). If you’re interested, THIS site has free silhouettes of everything you could possibly want.
Amazing, thank you! It's bookmarked and I will definitely use it for the next map I'm making!
Speaking of the map, I added some text and placed in in the actual zoo and I love how it looks :)

And then I continued the desert area in the new Plaza Mediterranea with a food court and some neighbours for my fennecs - gemsbok and camels. I wanted to do a flamingo habitat first, but it might be smarter to wait for the new wetland tool to do that. Unfortunately, I'm leaving for my parents' next tuesday and won't get to play until the end of the month. But I like to take it slow in this zoo anyway, decorating every corner before I move on to a new habitat and so on. Although the backside of the food place needs some more love!

Screw it, decided I want to share my proboscis monkey habitat.
I really love the fence in the water - smart and I have never thought of doing that, I have always use the in game barriers and tend to forget that you can use the building pieces to do the same thing - have to try it - nice enclosure too:)

Im finished for today and after a break i did the last fence and some decorations for the staff path and the habitats, aswell as some nightmarish pathing you see in the bottom of the pic to rearange, but also something just behind where the camera is facing as an unfinished little surprise.
Im honest, i just though this screen was really pretty and wanted to chare it, so enjoy

I went back to one of my previous franchise projects - Pangea Zoo. I don't believe I've shared it with you guys, but I think my thought process back when I started it was pretty much just making a zoo with many of my favorite animals, have it be divided into sections and go free with theming instead of restricting myself to a more cohesive look of the zoo. I've been really enjoying being back in this zoo, and I actually like what I've built so far (I usually dislike my old designs).

Part 1 - Oceania/Australia section

I've tried something different for entrance and put a tree with animal statues with it and the name of the zoo on the floor. I think it looks nice and it's something I've never done before.

You come straight ahead to the kangaroo habitat which is also the start of the Australia/Oceania section. To the left you are greeted by koalas, dingos and cassowaries.

Up on the hill above the cassowary habitat is an Australian restaurant. There is a salty croc habitat behind the koalas which I've called Croc Rock. I really love this habitat because it has this rock formation as a centerpiece. It's totally different from what I've ever done.
Opposite to the croc habitat is the exhibit house, it's still unfinished. Basically this whole area from croc habitat and all the way up to the restaurant is unfinished. I am waiting for the platypus so I can wrap up the Australia section.

Part 2 - SA section

If you turn left you are greeted by the jaguar - it's suppose to be the main attraction of the SA section. I really love this design, but the jaguars are giving me a headache with their navigation issues, and for some reasons the adult animals will not dive even though the water is more than deep enough. I've even created an underwater viewing area, and they never die. I even made some cool ruins in the water - their whole habitat is kind of SA jungle ruins. For guests, it's suppose to be an immersive experience, kind of like a little jaguar trail - seeing the animals diving and on land.

Opposite the jaguars, are the dwarf caimans. They have waaaaaay too much space, but that's okay. If you go down the bridge from the caiman habitat you will see tapirs and anteaters, sharing a habitat. I've also made like a little SA tamarind garden cafe area where guests can chill between the trees and look at the animals.
I've started building a giant otter habitat, and opposite the otters will be the new spectacled caiman. I've totally forgotten about the capuchins so I might squeeze them in somewhere.

The fence in the water is actually a habitat barrier with climbproof turned on. I figured it worked here because the proboscis monkey does actually swim, so a moat isn't particularly effective as a barrier on its own.

I thought so too, but the Inspiration had other plans obviously :D

Your Pangolin habitat is top notch!
That's how it is sometimes, inspiration comes at you like a sneaky scoundrel!

I thank you :)

Love the barrier. Very realistic.
Thanks! Over time, fences have become a real passion of mine

Not a masterpiece?! It's looking absolutely great. I love the viewing barrier you chose, and how lush and overgrown the habitat feels. And awesome education boards!
Thank you very much. Unfortunately, it is almost the same style with the overgrown as in my last zoo, but the dice decided it that way. 🤷‍♀️
I also think the new education boards are great! The layout took a bit of time, but for other animals I only have to swap the two pictures and the name.

Hello there everybody, today im bringing you good news! My last current zoo is back and i did some work on it today after reinstalling the game and fell right back in love with it again, which was honestly pretty amazing. As if i never left.
But anyways, while i have nothing actually finished, i do have some nice pictures of about 3 hours of work, so lets show them to you guys

First an overlook over the bison habitat. I only did some minor adjustments here, mostly just adding a bit of foliage here and there and a nice mud pool in the back, but do you see the empty area in the back groud? That will change in just a bit.

From behind the stables and on a smaller shelter, we find our new hero, a lonely male lynx that will inhabit this habitat, but he will atleast for the start not be alone. Hes joined by a pair of badgers which originally should own that hud and half of the habitat, but the habitat just looked way better in one piece, so they are a three man squad now.

Here weve got the front part of the habitat and our first panorama shot and let me say, i do love this early setup around the bison stable. Its very fun to build around and im sure the gemsbock in the back will agree when i will start working on their habitat. Also may i say, i might have been gone for far too long, but my fence game is still my a game. Love both of the fences i build for this habitat and cant wait to do more!

Finally a last one with the zoo entrance in the back. I truly love this game and cant wait to decorate this habitat in detail and revive my old zoo thread for it.

And thats it, i hope you liked it and also are excited for the future of this zoo, just like me ^^
[spoiler/]
I'm really glad you're back and found your joy in the game again. For real!
I really missed you and Mr. Quell a bit.
Incidentally, I think it's awesome that you use the fairy lights for an electric fence.

I think it's really cool that it's much more active here now and not just poor @Aramar posting here alone 😅

You mad man, building for the spectacled caiman before the capybara and ASCO. Truly a power move
But in general, a very beautiful zoo! Keep up the good work and i cant wait to see more ^^

This morning I built my Okapi habitat with the tropical dome in the background, finally. Not entirely sure whether I'm going to keep it this way, but I do really like the custom fence I used. Also, would this be a realistic zoo habitat? I'm not sure whether the trees would usually be fenced in for the Okapis because they'd just eat it all up otherwise. I have found a few reference pictures from zoos which didn't cut off access to the trees for these animals, so I kept it this way, but I might still change it.
20220407101423_1.jpg

The keepers can't access any of this habitat btw, no matter what I do, so I just gave up trying to correct their traversable area. It doesn't even show a single blue stripe at the entrance, even though they can enter the habitat and deliver the animals, so I have no idea. Maybe a bug 🤷‍♂️

Thank you, fence sister!
Look, since the dlc announcement ive been back on the forum and seeing all your cool stuff made me want to play again.
Also ironically, i quit with the pack that was most for me ever, even having my most wanted animal for the game so jumping right back in to build for them just feels great, especally with all the cool new stuff from the europe pack!
I literally spoke out loud when i saw the dog rose, its everything i could have ever wanted and more, so guys my advise of the day, use the dog rose, they are pretty great

Fence Buddys *high five

I used them in the Pangolin and in the revised Babirusa habitat :giggle:

Sadly nothing new from me today 🤷‍♀️ I have to work until 6 p.m. Tomorrow it's the proboscis monkeys turn.
I would actually like to include the DLC animals in my dice list... but unfortunately there is no information about the biomes yet

Wow, @PeppyPepp, real creative work. The Australia pack really has some of my favorite pieces. And I love your "Croc Rock".
"I remember when rock was young, me and Suzie had so much fun..."

I really missed you and Mr. Quell a bit.
Aw, thanks, Ms. Fini. It's good to be back here with fellow zookeepers, sharing tips and tricks (and the occasional prank😱😆)

I'm losing my touch.
I don't know what to do next at Montego Bay Zoo. I'm kinda like, almost done, but I need a to bring in 2 more habitats (does that make sense?). Not sure, though, which.
It's Asia. I already have dholes, I have binturongs, and I have rhinos. What next?
I thought about tapirs. I could-a, would-a, should-a, but I dunno
