Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

"A" rated power plant for combat ship is a must (when your wallet allow, obviously). So it's a 6A overcharged (grade 1) PP. Meet the Krait~!

It is double braced because it was swapped from my stored chieftain.
I can't find a 6A out here in Colonia (yet), I'm still looking. I love my Phantom for combat.

Are ships are pretty similar except I have 2 shield boosters and 2 point defense anti-missile systems and no fighter bay.

This one needed the slow hand clap emote. Too high to board.
Did you know that if you stand in front of your landed ship or SRV and do the clap emote, it will turn on the lights? And if you do the wave emote in front of your ship it will dismiss the ship?

Today I found a nice 5 bio planet, which turned out to be worth 2.6 million for me. Not too shabby.

It had a huge crater full of various plantlife, and an extremely orange looking sun.

I'd never seen these guys before - Cactoida Cortexum - Mauve. They look oddly inflatable. I wonder if they float in water? :p

These guys are Tussock Cuputus - Sage. It looks like a desert but it was cold there, like 189 K (which translates to -119 F and -84 Celsius). Good thing I have red boots to keep my toes warm :)

What's the emote for a back rub? I'd love to get a back rub from my Phantom.

Those are really pretty shots, do you explore with a Fleet Carrier also? How hard is it to find fuel for them and how many Ly can you go before you need to refuel?

According to eddb.io, Colonia Hub and Colonia Orbital in Colonia system might have a 6A PP. And the information on modules was pretty accurate last weekend. Built a Python and unlocked the engineers while I was there - when I passed through Colonia on a test drive for a neutron highway jumpaconda.

I'll have to go check again, I would love to upgrade to a 6A, I think I only have 0.13 of a megawatt left and I've been holding off on engineering it so as not to waste the mats. I have a bounty on me so I went in to the black for a few days to allow my notoriety to diminish, I'm 1200Ly out and heading back now.

Not sure, but IIRC one of the mods once asked us to leave them be, CMDR Wolfzx12r is a special case. If I read through/follow their posts, I get the impression that he's laboring under brain trauma and heavy medication.
If you don't want to see his (or any other CMDR's) posts, you can hover over their profile picture and choose "ignore", then you won't see any content from them.
Its gotten to the point that this thread won't feel the same without him!

Yeah, these days I take the carrier. I like having all my stuffs with me. It's totally unnecessary, but I live in luxury nowadays haha.

It's not hard to find fuel. I just buy it. It's expensive for long voyages, but I don't generally go much farther than 7000ly. Right now I'm less than 2000ly out.

Tritium can be mined as well, if you have the patience for it.

If you fill the entire hold with Tritium you can go a very long way. That's gonna be pretty expensive, though. I went to Colonia. I went to Sag A* and back at one point. Others have gone much farther.

Dang it, I'm jealous. I wonder if someday they might make engineering possible with fleet carriers? If they ever do, they would have to make them able to take damage. I think it would be cool to see someone drive a carrier in to a black hole.

I guess you better get crackin' then, earn those billions :p

Seriously, though, it's taken me a very long time and I wasn't even trying to get a carrier for most of it (because they didn't exist). When carriers were introduced I was already a multi-billionaire just from playing for years prior. Once I saw the price tag on those babies I decided to go all out and earn some big bucks. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do it again, but I do enjoy the carrier.

Slowly mooching towards a small pink nebula about 1kly from the bubble, I found a HMC world with no footfalls. It's not particularly interesting except for this enormous ridge of high ground, that is so mountainous there are mountains on the mountain.

Never seen that before in the terrain gen, it's quite entertaining 😹

It's a bit less impressive on foot, but you can see that lil pink nebula I'm heading for 😸

I think it's actually only 1 jump away... maybe tomorrow.

I'll wanna settle down.

Until tomorrow.

I'll just keep moving on.

I would've though it'd be better to save up for a 7 rated power plant, but that's just me. I don't find much motivation in gradually upgrading. Especially when it comes to those core modules. I just prefer the goal of upgrading and engineering in two steps.

Have you actually used EDDB though, or are you just not finding anything? It's pretty simple to use. Just type in your reference system and the module you're looking for.

This is what I used to upgrade my ships after getting the Krait MKII. It was expensive but I least I didn't have to manually scour systems to find the right modules.

Yes, I used it before. I thought the Phantom MKII can only take a 6 or lower as it doesn't have any 7 bays (I could be wrong though, this is all still new to me). I did look at only a couple of the places that stock them and didn't find any, I will check again when I get back.

My first foray into the BGS has ended with, what I'm claiming to be, a heroic victory for the forces of decency and the 'little man.'

With Baade Enterprise up for grabs and nearly in the hands of Denka Patron's Principles I managed to fend off their grubby advances and ensure The Leaders of Annwn were victorious. Important information has been disseminated around the locale, cargo deliveries have been transported and a few foolish brigands dispatched without ceremony. From 20% influence a piece I have swayed the balance of power to 23.5%/15.9%, overseen a continued Boom state despite the Elections and ensured the Station remains under righteous control.

Now, headline grabbing politico nonsense aside. I need to check the data across a few sites, double check the traffic reports and ensure I'm not claiming the hard work of someone else and then read up on why things happened and how I can push on. The controlling Faction aren't native, aren't a PMF and sit at 41.2% Inf so I'm wondering if I may push on and attempt a coup at their coriolis station and make a mad grab for power...

...oh dear, I feel like something may be getting out of hand😇

The MKII actually has more module space and hardpoints, as well as a fighter bay. It's just brickier so it lacks the speed and manoeuvrability* of the Phantom.

Plus I just think the engine layout makes it look prettier. Which is obviously the most important thing.

*I can never spell that word.
