What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Today I've been channeling my inner expo - and creating stupidly massive shade covers for a desert zoo that experiences 43 degrees C all the time - so shade was the answer and air conditioning. The entrance area has exhibits from around the world and also blends shiny metal with wood and classical oxidised copper - experimenting - oh, and Australian architectural bush restaurant style . . . The restaurant is like a Billabong themed shack - with a dunny underneath to attract the peeps to that Outback Billabong water wetland terror area down the back. Crocodiles - while they unsuspectingly eat above the tranquil water. ;):)

@markun You are on a roll! I'm completely in love with the style of your zoo.
Thanks, it's the first thing I have been happy with in ages. I really like the curve of that viewing area, really well done.

Any chance you could post an overview of that habitat? It looks kind of like what I want to accomplish in my zoo with the lechwe. I'd love to see how you laid it out if you don't mind!
Sure here are some more pictures

I'm usually not into exploring zoos of others, but yours I'd loooove to give a visit. So if you ever consider uploading it, I'm the first to download.
Sorry, what was its name again? I'm absolutely in love with the kinda low to medium budget vibe.

Funny enough, I'm into themed zoos IRL, but in PZ I'm super impressed with the other type. ^^

I'd love to get more building pieces that are cloth and textile based to make tents and shaders and a few more non-gridded solid materials would be great for it as well. These look great (better than anything I've managed) but I wish it was a bit easier to create organic and flowing shades.

Is there a Zoo that exhibits them in a big Formicarium that has a Opening that leads out of the Building so they can collect Nectar?
The Boston museum of life and science does excactly that. Their indoor beehive connects through a tube to the city of Boston, where they can fly out and get nectar.

Stunning work! Looks absolutely gorgeous! 😍
Thank you, I really appreciate it. I am so happy with how it is going.

Brilliant thank you! It looks great, I love the way you've made the mud wallow look like it's fed by the swimming hole.
No problem. Thanks, I wasn't sure at first but then I remembered you can make the water look muddy. Little things like that add so much to the game.

Thanks so much! I will upload it once it is finished. I set myself a deadline of three months to finish. I have time this week but from next week things might slow down. At the moment there are two possible names. The idea is that it is in an imaginary but realistic place in central Europe. I was going to do a zoo in Slovenia as my friend organises a Eurovision preview and voting every year and this year I got assigned the Slovenia jury. I love the landscape and nature there. But on the other hand, if it is somewhere plausible but actually fictional it gives you a bit more flexibility with building styles.

This is the sun bear enclosure I worked on this morning

Since my zoo was supposed to be built on the land next to Hong Kong Disneyland, I finally decided to call the park "Lantau Zoo".

The zoo has 357 animals from 79 species and 114 employees. It has the following areas: Eurasia, Australia, Night House, India, America and Africa, so it has a very wide range of animals.

Thank you all for your support during all the building process! But don't you think that you are finally getting rid of me, because I just started my next project!

This is more of a "what did you do this week", but today is Earth Day and that means I get to unveil a small glimpse at my next project coming later this year: Disney's The Wild . ☀️

Already impatient to see more of this!
It's insane how you managed to place that huge amount of decals without making it excessive, but actually hyper-realistic. You definetely have a gift when it comes to decalwork!
