ObsidianAnt: Frontier - What The HECK Is Going On With Elite Dangerous?

At best the middle one is the only one someone might reasonably construe as a personal attack. The first and third are about content.

Even the middle one is about ingame content / assets , not directed at OA personally.

I watched some streams when the CM were in open and got their ships blown by other players
Did you consider that a personal attack to the CM?

Go figure.

you dindnt quote my entire phrase and you seem to confuse disagreeing with his content to a personal attack - which is not.

The thing is, not everyone wants the same thing. I would like to have micro jumps because I think that SC gets tedious sometimes, others don't want it because it would take the size away. Should Frontier listen to me, the others or following their own vision? I picked that example because SC is something Frontier implemented due to feedback from the community and I am still not sure if it's good or bad. Maybe that explains my position?

Oh, I understand your position, and I think:

They should absolutely engage with you. I vaguely remember you from the older days, I assume you have +5000 hours under your belt, obviously you can explain your position eloquently, while taking into account the big picture. Also others, who play the game actively and on a certain level of proficiency can collectively provide focused feedback in pre-alpha builds and whatever. If devs are doing their job well, they will have absolutely 0 time to play the game and thus don’t know how one or the other thing will play out. That’s not a problem. A player council can mercilessly dissect upcoming ideas - pro explorers, pvp masters, entrepreneurs, - pre-screened top players in their field will have amazing feedback, I guarantee. Experience is everything, we just can’t substitute top player experience with anything. If top players disagree harshly, they can vote, or the decision is passed to FD. Either way, even this disagreement is valuable feedback.

Not a question of being a bad or a good idea. Can be either, depending on technical realisation. It better be done though, for the game at such scale needs next level engagement.

They are attacks on his content and by proxy, to him. If you were facing OA IRL and boldly told him his videos are 'insane drivel' and ask to the public 'who watches them', would you, with a straight face, tell him it wasn't a personal attack because you were talking about his content?

I can sepperate content from character. So no, criticizing someone's work is not the same as criticizing them.

Your premise effectively reduces all critique to a personal attack. By your logic then OA's content critical of the devs and game amounts to a series of personal attacks against all the people who work on the game at Fdev.

If you actually believe that you should expect them to be removed from the forums for EULA violations.

You call a critique to claim someone spouts drivel or wishes to knock down something vaguely related to his character (Obsidian Orbital)?

Nope, because what was said wasn't critique, it was an attempt to knock him down a peg.

Read above.

You'd be surprised by how much you can take a jab at someone here and get away with it. I'd know since I've done it myself years ago.

You seem real offended but yes saying you spouted drivel would be a critique of words you spouted. It might be hyperbolic but it's the difference between you did a bad thing and you are a bad person.

If that degree of nuance eludes you you're going to be extremely reactionary in conversation.

The Obsidian Orbital station is also not OA. It's a pretend space station and while I do t care up or down if it keeps spinning or deorbits in a fireball it's not the person it was named after.

You are adding the statement about peg knocking. The person you quoted clarified they are critiquing content.

So again your own actions are hypocritical. Calling someone a liar, even indirectly, would fit your characterization of a personal attack.

Does anybody care what you say anymore? You just spout incomprehensible drivel with no shortage of grammatical errors, it is indeed the work of a careless poster who only bothers to make dishonest arguments packed jam full of strawmans.

Ironic given the fact you lack the nuance to tell the difference between critique and insults.

Talking about strawmans...

The person who knocked down a peg claims he did no such thing, who would have thought?

Did it ever occur to you that not all personal attacks are bad?

Obsidian orbital is a space station, not a human being.
As I qualified later, OA is moving on from ED so to echo this in game by destroying the station and creating content (in the same way the station was created to give content) has an element of poetry and completeness about it.

100% curious as to how Liverpool not winning the quad would be connected to no Odyssey on consoles?
My favouite exploation ship is the Anaconda. It has plenty of space for all sorts of modules combined with a great jump range. (y)
