Console Profile Transfers and 2022 Updates

I mean it isn't the same as simply having it transferred, but you can decomission it, get the 5 bil, transfer your assets and buy it again on PC, if you so choose.
I know but its the stats I care about. The number of jumps, my crew, etc.

Kind of like how I lost access to the Cobra Mk IV it will always be a thorn in my side being reminded it isn't there anymore.

Of course I can make a new crew, but the stats won't be there and the people I served with as well.

Yeah, I've already got a PC and Xbox account. I've already started my profile on the PC and I've been on the console for quite some time. So will I have to delete my PC account to make the transfer, or will it all just copy over? I would be fine with either, to be honest. I'm just ready to use my Xbox account progress in Odyssey.

Ive only got One Question If this is a Once in a life time transfer does it mean tht i willnt be able to transfer back with this account to pc from the xbx.
The reason I ask is about 7 or 8 months ago I transferd from pc to xbx as i was playing more on my Xbox series X, so can or will I be able to trans the account back to PC as its not being worked on or upgraded anymore.
It's a copy rather than a transfer this time, so your progress is not lost on console. Though after the split progress is not cross platform.

Thank you for the update.

Question about the console profile transfer: do I have to own the game on PC prior to the transfer, or is it done within the realms of my Frontier Account, and I can create a new PC profile with that stuff later? I currently don't have a sufficient PC so I don't yet own Elite on Steam.

It looks like your PC account will be as it is now and you will get a new copy of Horizons for the transferred account from console. Your PC account won't be affected. No merge option it seems.

It's worth watching the first 15/20 minutes of the stream; the updates/framework on the OP post were explained to be placeholders so we'd know when to expect information ON those updates, not the content therein right now. Rather than saying "we'll get another update out", they've said "expect information in August on another update".... that's got to be good news, no? I.. guess not. :/

There also does appear to be a hint to what one of the updates will contain.... but I'll let you watch that and speculate.

I've already begun progression on my PC account, but would gladly wipe it clean to replace it with a copy of my Console account. Will you publish clear and specific steps to make this process work?

No account merge... so you either get a new pc account, or a deleted save on your current pc purchase and the copy be done there

Yes.
New mission type
Major feature overhaul
New major narrative, including a "lead up" conclusion to Azimuth saga

PLUS

Optimisation, and MORE new stuff.
A list of three things.(one of which minor. And one already been planned for months).. over the course of one year....
Think that is quite possibly less than satisfactory for most. I understand Frontier need not do anything substantial, but after the less than stella release of odyssey......

The best announcement by far for me is the "major feature overhaul" , while not brand new content. (and no specifics or even outline given) I'm sure will be good and welcomed/possibly. But looking back in the past, the mining overhaul was most excellent, but the FSS and/or new menu system was most debatable. So let's wait and see on that statement.
Let's hope they will be eliminating the blue cylinders getting in and out of the ships and srvs. Or even improving the plant scanning
lets be honest though. This is poor. It isn't going to save elite

Excellent news about the console transfers, guys. Sounds like you all were able to grab as much as you could for it. Cancelling consoles is still a massive disappointment, but it's clear now that at least you guys care about it and are trying to help out. I hope this goes a long way for the folks who need it.

Also, really nice gesture that the console accounts can keep going after the data transfer to the new PC account, and confirmation that the console side of the game will remain available. Having an option of going to console for folks who never want Horizons to be touched and hate the Odyssey changes is kind of nice in a "silver lining" sort of way.

Trepidatious about the light overview road map. We need more detail, guys. I know y'all want to have us holding our breath for great new things on the horizon (pun not intended), but folks have been holding their breath for so long that they're passing out. And every detail you don't give to "not spoil us" is something the doomers latch on to in order to discourage everyone else from enjoying the game. The more detail you give, the less room you give your detractors to tell everyone that your game is bad.

All in all, though, thank you for taking control of the narrative about Elite as much as you could. Thank you for outright refuting all the "game is dead" talk. Thank you for giving us a clear idea of when and what to expect, even if the details are sparse right now. Thank you for injecting a little bit of hope in spite of everyone's doom.

My guess is on an Engineering/Crafting overhaul, if only because we know it's something they've been taking the community pulse on.
That would be a third time. Seriously doubt that. Really, the only major feature left that wasn't touched yet and in dire need of an overhaul is Powerplay.

Instead of having to decommission our fleet carriers, could FDev detect we have an FC and just credit the PC account an extra 5 billion credits, that way we can keep the fleet carrier on console and have the ability to buy a new one on the PC account?
