Here's my feedback post for FDev... Community guys heads-up.
1st sounds like you're doing the best that can be done for the console players. I'm glad you're doing that for them. You all get full credit for this work.
Now, that's really the only positive thing I have to say. This roadmap seems EXTREMELY light. And you're pulling back on engagement. And telling us to hang around because there's more really cool stuff coming soon.
Up until recently you have, hands down, the best space game on the market. (My opinion, but it's probably shared by many). Even with the normal salt on the forums with each update and bug cycle, the game has gotten better and better since I started in 2016. The Odyssey launch was abysmal, but you all can get a mulligan for that with Covid shutdowns and maybe you made a mistake prioritizing shareholders over players or whatever. I'm over it, and I think many players are too. But now things are going to stagnate??
I don't engage much with the narrative. That's one of the key selling points of Elite to me. I get to play it my way. For the rest of the year all I have to look forward to is narrative stuff?
You HAVE the best space game, but your margin is shrinking daily. There are new games all the time, and Star Citizen keeps progressing closer and closer to a complete-ish game. Even NMS has evolved into a really viable game.(Backstory, the hype around NMS launch is what lead me to Elite). I have 1 year 3 months 11 days 5 hours active in-game. I have friends, ships, star-systems, first discovered tags, so many achievements that actually mean something to me. I don't want to go play another game. You HAVE the best game. Please invest in it to keep it at the top.
Keep the communication up. What are your EXACT plans for the game. What do you need to make that happen? You started this game with David & team talking directly to the community, sharing the vision, and the community invested in the game to make it happen. Why don't you trust us in the same way again. I recognize that legally you MUST prioritize the shareholders over your players.. But surely you all realize that if you lose the players, the shareholders will suffer?
