Paid mods? Can't see that being any popular.Create an SDK for plug-ins and open up to 3rd party content suppliers - commercial and community.
Assign permit-locked areas to each content provider with a mandatory framework to avoid
i) story-pollution (so no 3 competing suppliers each offering their version of Thargoids and each having a Raxxla in their area),
ii) technical additions beyond the capabilities of the regular game & engineers and
iii) financial limits on earnings per invested hour to not be as silly as... err... mining was for the larger part.
The idea would be to allow for all kinds of multi-stage missions with interactions with NPC and scripted events, anomalies, etc. to give it a bit of a Star Trek flair. If you are willing to pay for it. If not, just carry on playing ED outside of this suppliers' permit-locked area. Gains from such missions etc. should of course be permanent, i.e. translate to outside of the area, but they need to avoid becoming a "pay for fast-track development of your character/ships".
Obviously FDev would take its share of the proceeds of such offerings, while not having to spend more (read any) efforts than currently on content.
No, but maybe an optional Monthly Sub, with no PTW. Just for people to get some QOL stuff and help support game. Mods, ARX, etc could be part of that package.Paid mods? Can't see that being any popular.
Subs can work, but sometimes they utterly fail. Can't say why but standard sale of game seems the safer method to me.No, but maybe an optional Monthly Sub, with no PTW. Just for people to get some QOL stuff and help support game. Mods, ARX, etc could be part of that package.
Have you seen every other version of windows ?Offer to sell the IP to Microsoft so that they can fix the mountain of problems after firing all of the development managers.
