Let's say you take over complete control of development of E.D. - what would your roadmap be...

One feature I would like to see, are Fast Travel Beacons. They would be pricey to buy, and you can deploy them at distant points you travel to. And you can then Fast Travel there, again for a fee per use.

Create an SDK for plug-ins and open up to 3rd party content suppliers - commercial and community.

Assign permit-locked areas to each content provider with a mandatory framework to avoid
i) story-pollution (so no 3 competing suppliers each offering their version of Thargoids and each having a Raxxla in their area),
ii) technical additions beyond the capabilities of the regular game & engineers and
iii) financial limits on earnings per invested hour to not be as silly as... err... mining was for the larger part.

The idea would be to allow for all kinds of multi-stage missions with interactions with NPC and scripted events, anomalies, etc. to give it a bit of a Star Trek flair. If you are willing to pay for it. If not, just carry on playing ED outside of this suppliers' permit-locked area. Gains from such missions etc. should of course be permanent, i.e. translate to outside of the area, but they need to avoid becoming a "pay for fast-track development of your character/ships".

Obviously FDev would take its share of the proceeds of such offerings, while not having to spend more (read any) efforts than currently on content.

Paid mods? Can't see that being any popular.

As said, this would be entirely voluntary, no pay2win, just to add content, excitement, an actual purpose to what currently to me is rather a big void - and all of it in areas otherwise restricted for the non-paying players, so they don't feel bothered by those on such missions. For those who are willing to pay for it. Hence why this would be better done by 3rd parties as it doesn't distract further development resources from FDev away from... err... whatever they are doing. Surely mega-important stuff... which I just fail to recognize. Since many years.

The alternative at this point seems to be to let the game die. Which FDev possibly is busy doing by cutting down their engagement each time they announce something.

Obviously I would love to get all of the envisaged content I am waffling on about in competent quality from FDev, for free or even as paid DLC, but that just doesn't seem to be an option.

Offer to sell the IP to Microsoft so that they can fix the mountain of problems after firing all of the development managers.

Go free-2-play. Allow for private servers and release and support modding tools for the community with a optional subscription with perks.

First of all, sort the marketing structure for elite.

then raise the funding for this project, set a plan for pure optimaziation of the game.
bring back a quality department to assure that the updates aren’t brake core things in elite

spend money again to fund a native version for the next gen consoles, BUT before this,
Bring EDO in a State that even GlaDOs in her potatoe Form could running this game Smoothly.
