Lovely accents? stay away from LiverpoolOh I'm jealous of many things - your public transportation, your broadband (IIRC), your healthcare (again IIRC), your rich history (landscapes with castles, for example), your lovely accents, and more!

There are a lot more holidays that banks/government take, but the average business (from my experience) takes 10 main holidays. I'd love to come over, for a visit at least!Ou
Ouch. I was using the highly accurate internet for my research - and was only talking 'Public / Bank Holidays', but presuming that is all Holidays, including 'Public/ Bank', then you poor sod. I get 8 public, and 23 personal (I dropped from 8+25 from previous jobs). I think average is the 8 (statutory), and around 20 others
Come on Over - the weathers iffy, so is the Government (whichever one we have at the time), but the people are nice(ish), you are unlikely to get shot, and errrmmmm.
Their must be more to it than that, hmmmmmm.
EDIT: What has happened to the world, when you can't trust what you find on the internet![]()
Nah mate thats called a bit of tweekingAnnounce a release date on elitedangerous.com and then change it within five hours? With that argument? I'd call that poor, yeah.
Time-fluid release dates.Nah mate thats called a bit of tweeking

Are people really angry, or just disappointed again?Personally I would happily take a week delayed release with no glaring bugs over one set in stone and released regardless of obvious issues. if we were talking months of delays then i would have more sympathy with those who are angry.
Did they announce it on elitedangerous.com? I doubt the vast majority of players or forum members (not always the same thing) would have had any clue.Announce a release date on elitedangerous.com and then change it within five hours? With that argument? I'd call that poor, yeah.
Most are just playing the forum. Are people really angry, or just disappointed again?
fair point... perhaps i used the wrong adjective..... but either way, its a week... no biggie imo (and honestly I am no apologiser for FD!)Are people really angry, or just disappointed again?
Neither, really...I'm just baffled. This is twice now that FDev have said one thing and then, within hours, said something completely different. I just can't imagine what causes that. And believe me, blaming it on bank holidays? Come on, now...Are people really angry, or just disappointed again?
I should be livid, I planned a little break from 6th June, thinking EDO would have been updated by then and able to run on my potato laptop...And now we have synthetic outrage![]()
I think you mean decades.time will tell i guess....... it would be nice to have a way of tagging posts with an easy way to go back to them.... (i dont want to fill my bookmarks up and i will neer be able to find this thread even if it does launch in 3+ years time![]()
Individually no biggie, but this offender has form.fair point... perhaps i used the wrong adjective..... but either way, its a week... no biggie imo (and honestly I am no apologiser for FD!)
So it is a crime, then?Individually no biggie, but this offender has form.
Are you sure we are still talking about Elite now and not about the (UK) Government ?Neither, really...I'm just baffled. This is twice now that FDev have said one thing and then, within hours, said something completely different. I just can't imagine what causes that.
I think that if one were to take your statement in a vacuum, you would be absolutely correct. But when it becomes serialized behavior on the part of the developer, I think it's a horse of a different color. Myself, I chuckle and move on but I do see how some, especially those who have invested significant real world money into the game, can be frustrated. And let's not forget that this game was crowdsourced in its infancy. So I do think some folks, rightly or otherwise, feel as if it is "their" game.It makes me laugh in this day and age with all thats going on that folks actually get upset by a developer changing the date of an update, i mean come on folks get real.

Well, if they updated just before the holiday, and there was a bug (and there are always bugs), then you would have been sat here, posting furiously for 4+ days screaming 'why did they update just before a long weekend! Are they fools!'. Postponing until after the holidays means you only get to do that for a day or so. HTH.Oh. Suddenly and expectedly the next update will be late. Reason = bank holiday. Hmmm. I guess I don’t have to understand the connection between a bank holiday and releasing a software update as committed. Bottom line is, thank goodness, it’s not FD’s fault.
But are people really upset or outraged as thistle put it? I mostly see tongue-in-cheek and/or snide remarks about the bank holiday arriving unexpected. It makes me laugh in this day and age with all thats going on that folks actually get upset by a developer changing the date of an update, i mean come on folks get real.
