PES has been described as saving items on the server so that when said server dies, items persist after a new server is spun up. Logging off and back onto the same server (that hasn't died) isn't testing the functionality of PES.

Taken in isolation there is nothing wrong with adopting this position.

When you know CIG have been touting persistence since 2016 (4 years after kickstarter) and 6 years later still haven't got it, you might start questioning things.

Ay, 5hr+ party sessions definitely spread the bug net wider ;)

I'm just 2hrs+ into the Jackfrags latest and they are mainly being stricken by respawning issues and elevators...




(They still haven't managed to meet up at the Bengal yet ;))

EDIT: Jack trapped in the elevator again. 30 mins til the Bengal leaves...

EDIT: The invisible victim. (Is this massive desync? Surreal user error? I have no idea...)

EDIT: 18 minutes to go. One of them has fallen through the station and 'gone quantum'. He makes it back to a med bed with seconds to spare.

EDIT: 2.5 hours after the main group logged in (and died, in one case), they have all met up. And they missed the Bengal ;)

EDIT: They are somewhat in disarray. They decide to stick together, and 2 of them almost instantly crash ships into each other. One of them ends up with duplicated ships that won't reclaim for a bit. The long-term backer Remag/Will was getting progressively grumpy while failing to get Jack to the Bengal on time due to bugs & Orison's atmospheric escape times. He is now muttering how he's 'sick of it' etc. Currently a lift has shunted him into space.

EDIT: They have found the new Bengal site! It will arrive in 30 minutes. Unfortunately one of them has been sucked out of the station and another has simultaneously been pushed through the floor by his ship.... Almost immediately a third gets 'lift wanged' out as well

EDIT: They toured the Jav & an 890J. It was dull. Although they did find a spaghetti man in a tube. After about 3.5 hours they found the Bengal of their dreams. There was a rousing speech, and then they died to it in their X-wings in quick succession. It was a bit too dark to see anything on the whole. Now they are dying a lot on a prison break. The main streamer has strange glowing UI following him around.

I'm guessing a lot of the bugs also don't crop up if you just play solo. Since CIG are (supposedly) still tinkering around with their networking tech, robust does not come to mind immediately. Au contraire! Solo would suit me just fine but I'm having way too much fun with other games, atm (if you like survival games, check out Grounded, I believe it's available on Xbox Game Pass). So SC will have to wait some more. It must be said that it does provide lulz by the bucket at times, but certainly not in the way I expected it to, nearly a decade ago.

Gaider's stuff for Dragon Age isnt like that, you can pick up and play any of 'em without knowing everything from outside of the games and still have a good time with a firm idea of whats going on.

Source: Being formally married to a woman obsessed with Dragon Age whereas I gave the loosest of figs about it.
