I repeatedly landed on a 2.6G planet for some Odyssey content... FA Off... does that count?Try doing a mission where you have to land on a planet.
Could be. I've definitely not updated by nvidia driver recently and I haven't seen any crashes on foot.I will say, since the latest NVIDIA driver update, I am routinely getting CTD's on foot.
I have a 1070 and it's playable on ultra (I do turn it down to high because it pushes the boundary of playable on ultra, but it can be done) - there is certainly plenty of optimization still to do, but the hardware is not a bottleneck by any meansOut in the void on planets doing stuff is routinely 60fps+ I've not had any issues at all recently, and i'm running at ultra settings... (it may be down to having an RTX 3060 though![]()

I will say, since the latest NVIDIA driver update, I am routinely getting CTD's on foot. Like, every time I land and try to do anything. It lasts a few minutes and then Charlie Tango Delta. Every time. Of course, this ostensibly has nothing to do with FDev, but it is annoying. Until Update 12, I'm off my feet, so to speak.
Why would I want to do a mission when I can have fun.Try doing a mission where you have to land on a planet.
Any idea if it's possible to retrofit it? It's all automated and I haven't the first idea where or how to change them.I still run a 4xx series Nvidia Driver after reading about lots of CTD on surface in EDO using series 5xx of Nvidia drivers
Edit: i just checked, running 497.09 and they;re pretty stable (some reports are saying older drivers are even more stable like 46x or so)
Could it possibly be heat related? Temp is steady in the 60's C while in space. The moment I go to ground, immediately jumps to 84C and stays there. However it was never crashing before updating drivers.Just updated to the latest 5.x Nvidia drivers (from some slightly older 5.x drivers) and it will works fine.

Thank you.Apparently latest (beta) AMD drivers for RX6000 series are crashing the game while on/nearby surface
If that's your case too, revert to an older and stable (not beta) AMD driver

Thanks that worked. In the GForce Experience settings enable notifications, but disable automatic download and install
From the NVidia Drivers section find and download an older certified version
To whom it my concern this game is unplayable when will it be fixed?
So it wasn't fdev that needed to fix their game?
Well the poster didn't even say what was broken about the game, just demanded it be fixed, so we're all guessing here.I'd say it'd debatable since:
- it's confirmed the latest beta AMD RX6000 drivers are crashing EDO when nearby or on planetary surfaces
- i've seen a quite enough number of reports of EDO crashing with 500 series of NVidia drivers to keep me from upgrading from 497.x (and even with 497 i've had a number of planetary crashes that for a while i considered dropping to 467.x or so - and i'm still considering it...)
They confirmed that rolling back the drivers solved their crashing while taking EDO missions.Well the poster didn't even say what was broken about the game, just demanded it be fixed, so we're all guessing here.
