I agree that there appears to be a concerted push to implement relatively-basic versions of the previously-promised "super in-depth BDSSE" features (see the many design documents and Q&As over the years), aka scope reduction but it's better than nothing.
Regardless, as Turbulent get control of more and more of the project, production does appear to be getting more focused.
And in the meantime, more concept sales![]()

Yeah I finally had a look into their PU team, and it does look possible:
MTL Sandbox 1 (previously Modular - MTL)
Although it seems they're primarily on assets, with just as few tasks with designers attached:

They're all art teams alone, with the exception of these 3:

Bit weird for there to be no engineers etc attached to any of that. Makes me wonder if they're just designing locations for existing gameplay primarily.
But the 'Tier 0' tag on Hospitals does kinda suggest that they're going to be the 'stuff for now' guys in the PU. While the true miracles are performed over in SQ42 land...
I guess the SQ42-friendly doctors & nurses stuff lined up for 3.15 is what's supposed to fill the scenes they're building:

If Turb really are the PU heroes for now though, then there's a bit of a gap until their next novel content. Building Interiors and Derelict Spaceship POI scheduled for Q2 2022...
(But hey long way to go. Let's see if 3.15 even goes live in Q3 first)

...seeing those big whale passing through the clouds in front of you, as you're in those medical bed, um, feels special. It feels different.

Revenues are increasing because ship sale events are more frequent and whales are buying more ships and jpegs.
More revenues = more profits = more dividends for Chris and family and Calders![]()
Langley, IMO good will by backers 1 year or older has been exhausted, there has been a large influx of new people since the Odyssey debacle that has not only maintained but accelerated with new eyes on it due to new to it streamers with millions of subscribers getting in to it.
But the pool of fresh backers is not infinite, funding could easily dry up, i think CIG know this, they know unless they have something substantial to show for all the time and money its going to be increasingly difficult to find funding sources.
There does seem to be a real push now to move the game forward significantly, to get it on the road to completing it, because they realise they are at the point where they have to sooner rather than later.
Turbulent have done a lot more than hospital interiors and a bit of fudgery with the server meshing, you're forgetting all the shipwreck POI's and work on the upcoming planetary bases along with the global navmesh work for the NPC's...not to mention completing the design work and implemetation of the Pyro system. More importantly, whatever they've done to date has been produced on time and workable out of the box. For a relatively small PU focused team and with the bulk of Ci¬G being pressganged into dragging Sqn 404 from the depths of development misery, they're doing not too badly so farI know Turb are supposed to be the PU's saviours, but I'm not really seeing it so far:
To date they've done Hospital interiors...
(And helped replace iCache with the Entity Graph stuff on the Networking side, and worked on internal tools etc).
We'll know more about their PU moxie after the much heralded derelict settlements finally arrive, I suspect.
EDIT: They're also quite happy to join in on the dream-weaving, as far as I can tell![]()

Chris explained this to Richard Garriott, ice cubes just need to move their arms about in space and they will move in whatever direction they want. It's science. The ice cubes are made of gravity goo. Does no-one read the lore?![]()

Lots of well-marinated sceptics in the mix…

I backed this game in 2012 when my son was 3, he's 13 now. If I'm not here to see the finished game release, I'll rely on him to carry the torch. Seriously, my son and I have had this discussion, lol.
On a side note, I started playing about a month ago and I'm having a blast.
Sadly he's not into spaceship games.. yet. He's into shooters on Xbox like COD, Apex Legends, etc,.. I play with my 60 year old dad tho. You'll know him when you see him, he's normally standing naked near the hotdog bar trying to figure out how to get his undersuit on, haha. When he lands his ship you'd think it was real life, he is MAX LEVEL careful.
You gotta intrigue him a bit with some cool clipsand LTI'S
ToW was outsourced. The company working on it then got bought by Sony and that was the end of ToW.
