New 25 essential habitat animals META-WISHLIST

huh? did Random Goat say we can update our lists?
It's not like they can un-announce the Leopard lol

Also it kinda makes me sad / confused to see Three-Toed Sloth so high on the list. I really wish we could substitute that with the Two-Toed as it's much more common and realistic to have in captivity. Though I hope Frontier understands this and it seems like they already do. I know they're the more iconic species either way so I just really hope that they take into account realism. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the frontrunners of this wishlist now.

It says in the rules on the first post that after every announced DLC, if any of the animals we voted for made it in, we can submit additional votes equal to the amount of animals on our list that made it into the DLC.

I think the issue there is that a lot of people vote for “sloth (any species)” (myself included, before I knew how it worked) and their vote just automatically goes to three-toed sloths because it’s higher on the list.

Okay, now that the siamang is here, I have a question. I added the Northern white-cheeked gibbon to my wishlist, but I would have been satisfied by any kind of gibbon. Am I allowed to swap them out for another species?

I have a question regarding the re-vote. In my original list, I voted "any gibbon species", so does that count as being able to replace it, or my vote went automatically in Lar gibbon and i should keep it as it is ?

No

Thankfully, we're reaching the point where none of these species are super important to me, but there sure are quite a few of these second-to-third-rung picks. Shout outs to the dromedary, African civet, common genet, greater kudu, rock hyrax, serval, lion-tailed macaque, bush dog, sea otter, Pallas's cat, sand cat, blue wildebeest, coyote... surely it'll be one of your turns soon!
I'm shocked and floored that I somehow went through three iterations of this list without realizing I didn't have a siamang on it. Woooow. Anyway I got one new one with the Amur leopard so I'll give that point to:
  • Rock hyrax
Also, since this whole thing has become a bit of a mess, I'm going to consolidate it all and refer to the following list for any future repostings. Obviously nothing's changing besides the leopard/hyrax swap, it's just all in a single list now for my own convenience (even though I strongly suspect there will be only one more meaningful replacement after this):
  1. Tanuki
  2. Hamadryas baboon
  3. Grey crowned crane
  4. Red river hog
  5. Matschie's tree kangaroo
  6. Emu
  7. Brown-throated three-toed sloth
  8. Crested porcupine
  9. Ocelot
  10. Coatimundi
  11. Red fox
  12. Helmeted guineafowl
  13. Bennet's wallaby
  14. Common squirrel monkey
  15. Brazilian porcupine
  16. North American river otter
  17. Mantled guereza
  18. Fishing cat
  19. Golden lion tamarin
  20. Common eland
  21. Patagonian mara
  22. Greater rhea
  23. White-faced saki
  24. Raccoon
  25. Rock hyrax
  • Capybara
  • California sea lion
  • Cougar
  • American alligator
  • Eurasian lynx
  • Amur leopard

21. Southern Elephant Seal
22. Tasmanian Devil
23. South American Coati
24. Maned Wolf
25. Wolverine

Also: No judgment, we all have our preferences, but I just cannot understand why so many people on here want the game's roster to be some kind of comprehensive collection of ungulates. Like I'll see an animal name I've never heard before, I'll google it, and sure enough, it's some kind of goat or deer that honestly doesn't look that interesting to me. I don't get it. I feel like out of every animal group, there's already more than enough deer/antelope type species in the game.
