Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Did Kate really say she enjoyed the bugs because they added more challenge to the mission? That's one hell of a silver linings paintbrush she's got there
In just about any other game I've played, I've never seen someone praise game breaking bugs. Praise exploits that make the game easier? Certainly. But in my experience, players prefer the gameplay to be challenging, not desperately hoping that a bug doesn't destroy them out of hand. That's the kind of things which causes people to rage quit.

Stop turning gravity on and off!

Honestly what the hell have they done now? 😁

Is this because they've turned the gravity toggle back on for that Turbulent mission? (And now it's flipping state at inopportune moments?)

Backers are celebrating giving CR more money.

Almost 60 million in half a year, and don't forget, we have the big con still to come, where they will likely have a new big concept ship sale.

Guess they are going to hit 600 million this year in total funding.

Still, early days.

Emergent gameplay! If you want to enjoy the game now finding the way around the bugs is a game in itself. Not my idea of a game, but thankfully not everyone is like me.

You know what's marginally less cool though? Area 18 is not in space. 🤭

That's easily explained in lore. Any artificial gravity device can be turned into an anti-gravity device if you reverse the polarity of the neutron flow

That's also the reason why Elite station spin anti-clockwise. That's the positive direction in a polar coordinate system. If the stations spun clockwise everyone would be flung up to the rotational centre of the station

Refugees flee because of bugs and too much focus on FPS pew-pew, praise new haven's emergent bugs and shooty-shooting brain-dead AIs.

Oh yeah, ship interiors and toilet flush, sorry forgot that.

Best damn toilet simulator is still on....

(Soz, still not tired of that one ;))

Personally I'm more excited to stockpile toothpaste in my Banu's bathroom. Then identify the brand's mint supplier and pirate them mercilessly...

I shall watch the price rise from my porcelain throne. Possibly while hiding a wine glass...

Its actually quite cool how they can disable gravity like that.

About as cool as when Illfonic (remember them?) demonstrated it. In 2014.

(the faux-tactical chat is still as excruciating as it was at the time)

As LittleAnt will tell you, the only meaningful metric of how much progress CIG has made, and the quality of SC as a game, is how much money has been raised.

Too bad the predictions of collapse from this forum seem to have some difficulty coming true 😆
I wonder why. The alpha is unplayable, every newcomer should flee and instantly become a refunder...

Which predictions?

Only failed predictions around here seem to be yours bud ;)

Like this recent guy on Metacritic? ;)

Got into the game on the 3.17 release. Paid $75 USD on a starter ship then spent a little over 2 months playing and GRINDING LIKE HELL to buy bigger/better ships to explore other play styles. Now with 3.17.2 coming down the pipes, the company is saying that there will be a database wipe and ALL IN-GAME MONEY AND ITEMS WILL BE LOST. But if you paid real money for something, oh then that's safe.

No company with over $484 million (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goals) and a project that's over 7 years old (public alpha for Star Citizen started in 2015) should have this many bugs, charge this much to enter, or conduct COMPLETE DATABASE WIPES. Save your time and money and look elsewhere. I'm not even sure this game will be worth it even when it reaches production release.
