Elite Dangerous | Industrial Sale | Introducing the 'Hazard Pack'

I'm lovin' the look on the Asp Explorer. Makes it look like the utility ship it was designed for and reminds me of heavy
machinery that Caterpillar would sell. I hope those additional lights add more illumination when in the dark.

UPDATE: I turned on the lights and the cockpit interior lights up! I guess the Devs have more work to do.

They dont, which on the one hand is a little disappointing, but on the other hand at least will avoid the "paying for functionality" accusations. Flimley already tested it for us

I'm not observing any noticeable difference.

Why is the lighting equipment placed directly infront of the reverse thrusters, and not to the left ? Or is this an optical illusion?
I get the distinct impression that the artists who worked on this have zero idea how the ships operate. A little thought to the realism of placement wouldn't go a miss.

You'd figure they could shift them to the inside more, or below the frame, right? At least it's the only ship I've seen so far with this issue.

These look fantastic Sally, my T9 and Python are now sorted but I'm thinking my Krait, AspX and my Cobra may need one as well. Please pass on my thanks to the team behind them, Sally. Would love to see other variants on this theme, a Trader version perhaps with additional tanks or cargo containers (non functional of course) would look great

You know the MkIII makes sense...
I'm not biased in ANY WAY toward the Cobra MkIII. Don't listen to anyone who might tell you otherwise..............................................
Sally's Pink Wafer. She is not biased in any way.....

Hey Sally, Everything on the CMIII would fit the CMIV.

FDev just needs to allow CMIV owners to purchase them.

Now I'm jealous.

Totally different staff members. It's like going to the people in the automotive paint shops and asking if the painter can rebuild your transmission - it won't serve any purpose except to waste your time and annoy the painters.
Would be a pretty impressive painter though 😏
Alright, alright I'm done with being snarky.
I do like these ship kits, very cool.

So, besides looking like a welders kit, what is its purpose?
I get the lights, but the rest, what is it for, and because normally ship kits have no functionality, what are the other parts supposed to be for?

As much as I like the idea of more kits, I do think its not something I would want on any ship.
Feels a lot like cheap backyard mechanic add-ons to extremely expensive vehicles.
I don't own a space truck, so I have no idea what this is for or why I would want it.
All my ships are pretty and new and smooth, this just does not seem like it belongs on space ships.
Are we going to be getting a new ship? A tow truck ship maybe that these would look appropriate on?

Owning many many ships, I just don't see why I would want something so very different in looks on them.
to make a cutter or a vette look like it belongs in an auto wrecker yard just seems so wrong.

Speaking of said functionality, what about all the bug reports for all the kits already? blocking hardpoints, cutting down weapon arc, etc...
I would buy extra lights for many of my ships, happily.
But not at the cost of making a beautiful ship look like it belongs in a welding shop at a construction site.

Sorry to be so negative, but Ships, not Trucks. All I see here is Welding accessories for trucks.

Just take a random search of space craft in movies or fantasy art, i bet at least 50% look industrial (Red Dwarf?).
I don't want all my ships to look the same, that's the point.
If they are fitted out as miners or scavengers i want them to look like that.
And as a part time trucker and do see the T range as trucks :p

I know at least one piece of the Krait Mk 2 kit goes across the rear exhausts (but looks cool and is not totally out of place).

But with this example the kit kind of needs to have the lights further inboard (unless it blocks the x 4 S below) or that the kit artists extend the front thruster (via the kit) and add some sort of baffle. Ironically the Asp Scout might be a better candidate for this kit, since it lacks the big reverse thrusters and has them tucked underneath.

I would hazard the other bits are supposed to function as fenders on boat

Further feedback. I've now climbed over all the ships that the Hazard Ship Kit is available for and I love them all, although the Cobra Mk III is my favourite.

If there was a Hazard Ship Kit for all the other ships I would happily buy every one as they are awesome. Keep them coming!
