Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

There was enough shouting and wailing when some of our boys stupidly decided to post certain questionable taste videos on YouTube a while back...tends to be that our main talents in my old job aren't really appreciated by folks who still believe in unicorns, honest politicians and that the only real bad guys are the slightly brownish terrorists they so fear. Not so nice when Mrs Brown realises that her lovely boy, Jimmy, is doing the same thing right back at those supposed bad people

One of my biggest bugbears are people on a poppy wearing crusade around November time, thinking they can impose poppy wearing "in support of the troops" on everyone else, while ignoring all the wars waged against whomever the government brands a terrorist.

Off topic though so... maybe CIG should add poppy lapels to SC. For a price..

Yeah..seemingly the new and exciting elevators are more rare than they were last night... according to game chat tonight (dependent entirely on servers and load etc). Shame really, they were at least slightly entertaining for a few minutes :D

It's impressive how many ways they can break ;)

(Still waiting for one to hijack someone and slowly transport them to the sun...)

This might blow your mind but... have you heard of V-tubers?

He flew very close to the wall at high speed, its not an excuse and it shouldn't be so but any one who has put a good number of hours in to Star Citizen knows you don't take risks like that.

Its the same with the running at full speed 3 abreast in to elevators, again, they should know not to do this.

IMO they know exactly what they are doing, its staged, they are doing it deliberately, as @Mole HD has alluded to i can play for 1000 hours and never come across any of the bugs they seem to be encountering literally every 2 minutes.
They are doing it for views, its the clown thing, people like clowns, if they are streaming going from one calamity to the next and the next and the next...... people will watch it.

People like this will always find ways of humorous calamitous things happening to them, because they earn their views by being clowns.

The problem is, when people play Star Citizen, maybe for the first time or two, they are so used to other FPS games and MMO's just letting you do this sort of thing it comes as s surprise that you are expected to creep around slowly and be very careful of touching anything lest you just drop dead. In MMO's, FPS the default mode is you just run everywhere, that's how it works, if SC can't manage this then it's going to be an issue for everyone who buys it, because that's what you do! Nobody "walks around carefully" in an MMO or FPS! This is basic functionality!

Rather than performing another wipe and reset for the Live servers, which would cause a service disruption, we’re able to rectify funds in player wallets by performing an update on the server side. Additionally, if you’ve spent the aUEC you received between the launch of 3.17.2 and now, you’ll most likely get to keep those purchases (provided you spent a reasonable amount). If you happened to gift some or all of your stipend to another player, in most cases, some or all of your gift will be removed. Also, as we audit accounts after resetting the stipend, if we find accounts that have excessive numbers of purchases well beyond our original intent, we may remove what we deem to be excessive ship ownership. So if you went on a buying spree to acquire 5 Hammerheads, you may find 4 of them gone the next time you log in.
RIP
For example, a player who played for 20 hours prior to the wipe will find they have enough of a stipend to equip themselves with armor and weapons to take on Nine Tails in the Siege, and still have enough to grab a Dragonfly or Cyclone to raid Jumptown. And a player who has played 100 hours before the wipe will have enough to immediately get an Avenger Titan, giving you a solid start to your 3.17.2 adventures. This is the kind of advantage we intended to give to players with our stipend award: enough to reward your previous efforts in 3.17.1 and give you a head start in earning more, not enough to immediately acquire a 10-ship fleet before your first bounty mission.
So generous! :ROFLMAO:

It's an Alpha, for testing, why didn't they just top up the players who received only a tiny amount compared to the other players, I mean it's not as if the money means anything, it will all be gone at the next wipe, it's essentially meaningless and the entire point is to have players testing the new server limits and events, now suddenly they are going to take stuff away as if it actually matter!

What a major cluster this is! Now everyone is annoying as anything, way to get the Alpha "tested"!

Because too much aUEC for people to buy ships with means less people buying JPGs.

According to CIG, it's not an alpha but a live service. To quote their own statement:

<..>for the Live servers, which would cause a service disruption<..>
Live servers. Service disruption on live servers. For a.. live.. aka released, game.

Where they can just take money away from players for any reason, or none at all, lol!

Just a continuation of the quantum reality that is star citizen Alpha/Live game, the wave form collapses to live or alpha depending on what the critic says!

Well, yes. In a live game you totally would take money back from players if it was done in error - look at Rockforth in 'the other game' for instance.

ofc it makes less sense to take it back in an Alpha, especially when you already announced there would be a wipe in the next update. 10 years in and they haven't realised people don't like to lose stuff, even if it was a bank error in their favour :)
