In Iraq there was a bunker that was used for civilians, the US hit it with two bunker buster bombs, and killed 300+ civilians. Then claimed it was a military target, and being used by the Iraqi army, it had an old relay in it that was according to the Iraqi officials who defected in 95 inactive at the time because of the risk to civilians.
In WW2 we levelled entire cities to disrupt the enemies ability to fight.
In Vietnam the US carpet bombed Hanoi's industrial/military districts and hit some residential as well.
We used a biological virus against them, and probably killed millions of them with that, some of whom weren't involved in the military campaign but would be considered in our terms collateral damage. I think the goids have more than enough reason to hit us back.
What happened there was it detected the Guardian stuff it had in it's hold.
