Is upgrading to 4.0 mandatory or can Horizons players stay with 3.8? Asking because the "updated graphics", especially the planetary rendering, is ugly.

The alignment of the core features in both Horizons and Odyssey is the best thing I have read in years. And this is coming from someone on Odyssey. Great going! o7

Hopefully it is, as this will allow for less maintenance and less version compatibilty issues.

Does this allows instancing between Horizons and Odyssey? Both in space and on the ground?
If yes to instancing then can Horizons see on-foot players on planet surfaces and be affected by them?

Does this mean that Horizons players and Odyssey players on PC will be able to instance together now, providing it's in space or on a world with no atmosphere?

Question for Bruce

Will this merge merge the C+P between Horizons and Odyssey? The rules are different between the two and might cause wailing, gnashing of teeth and / or rending of garments.

Not good, more than once last week I needed to log back into 3.8 Horizons to fix a problem with Odyssey, my laptop can't even open the 4.0 client and it still has so many issues... Terrible news.

I thought this wouldn't happen until the next DLC, so that is great news. Except... now you'll have two groups of players experiencing daily CTDs instead of one lol (hope the QA team have enough coffee)
