Exactly, I'm out now, it was 320Ly across.I take it you;re doing economical jumps?
Once or twice I've been to on foot POI missions and had 5 waves of enemies drop in...killed some on foot, some with the Scorpion, some with AMR and one with my ship's cargo scoop...I really ought to do something different from on-foot missions: I think I'm addicted! (Or, if you're of that persuasion, they're "addicting" - which is a word I absoluetly hate).
EDIT I did one yesterday that was a real challenge. I couldn't find a scav takedown so I took on power-up that was a threat five (first one I've seen). One ship landed while I was on settlment approach and my info panel said there were four scavs absailing down.
Were there five? No. There were another four planetside. Some were easily picked off but, when I got down to two, another ship landed another four. Never mind, keep at it.
I whittled them down to two again but those last ones were really dug in. What's more, their AI was almost like another player was controlling them.
In the end, I had to go shields-up and gung-ho with the Oppressor, almost toe-to-toe.
A very satisfyingf mission indeed!
That post is worthless without video and/or screen shots.and one with my ship's cargo scoop...

That was harsh! Love it.

Perhaps we could a competition for the most creative way of taking out an enemy... I have run over a commando once but that's not very original.
EPIC!!!
Thanks!That was harsh! Love it.

I try to follow this rule of thumb: Play with what I have and don't pine for what I want...Looks really useful! Thanks!
Mind you, it would be better if the scanner had multiple canisters so you could store more than one sample. Like bins in mining.
Yep, wait until you are there before arrival and within 6km(?) of it and in the path of it, it knocks you spinning into the void.Yes, that does look weird.
I saw mine appear by accident. I had entered the system and target the carrier, but when I got there, there was nothing there. Then a flash of lightening and a massive crack and she pulled herself out of dark clouds. It scare the bejeezus out of me!
Can the scarab scan plants though? I know it can't "see" geo signs.I took the Scorpion out exploring today, just for a change of pace. I don't have any livery for it, but the default color looked rather fitting on this sandy planet.

The Scorpion is good on this kind of flat terrain, but I do prefer the Scarab on anything bumpy. 6 wheels do a better job there, it seems.

But it was a fun explore, and I found 2 planets with high-value bios on them (Stratum Techtonicas for 806,300cr and Bacterium Cerbrus for 121,300cr). It came to nearly 4 million with first-logged bonuses. Rank in Exobiology is pretty slow going, so it's nice to get a boost now and then.
Not that I'm aware of. That HAS been asked for though...Can the scarab scan plants though? I know it can't "see" geo signs.
Hehe, no, not sarcasm. I've never tried to data scan a bio in the Scorpion. Not that I'm aware of. That HAS been asked for though...
Or was that sarcasm???
