Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

We also got a good taste of Odyssey rough edges and bugs, that waylaid us for a while before setting out. One bug was the most memorable though,
That's just disconcerting, I hate it when I get stuck to the ceiling when trying to grab an Orangina in the canteen. Next time you're on a high-G planet you should jump out real quick, quite the Kodak moment for a split second when your 18 inches tall with bozo-the-clown feet sticking out.

Nothing on the biological front today, but I did discover a couple of terraformable water worlds and terraformable HMCs, all in the first system I jumped to. I made enough to cover upkeep just from that one system :)

This water world had two nearby stars, quite a sight.

And I found a terraformable, landable planet with an atmosphere. No life signs.

Man, it is black out here in The Fallows, some sections of the sky are completely void of stars, creepy. I can only plot one jump at a time, every third with jumponium and my current range is 52Ly (104 max). When I get to the bubble, I'm going to dump an SRV finish rolling my lightweight scanners and life support, I'm hoping to get it around 65Ly.

My understanding is that a jumpaconda can get up to around 80 LY jumps or so.

Well, Modular Terminals are still hot property.
I happened upon 53 modular terminals as a mission reward about 10 hours ago and did the decent thing - put them up for sale on my Fleet Carrier at the maximum 24K each. Just looked at the stock level now, and there are only 18 left. I use ED Market Connector, so eddb and Inara were up to date with my carrier market as soon as I put the Modular Terminals on sale.
It shows that there are still new players and/or players starting up additional commanders at a steady rate.

What kind of ship you flying?

My little DBX gets over 73 and still has SRV and such. These days it's possible to push range much farther than it used to be.

I'm driving an Anaconda, I have a dual bay SRV hanger with two SRV's. I was using a single SRV when I first started out and destroyed it and had to turn around and go almost back to the bubble to buy another, I'm a much better driver now (more cautious). I was thinking of dumping my weapons too, keep the point defense and heat sink launchers maybe downgrade the shield from a bi-weave to a standard (can those be rolled for lightweight?).

As an aside, one can synthesize repair/rearm/refuel of the SRV...in case you didn't know...

My Anaconda has no weapons, no point defense and no shield boosters, just a heat sink launcher. I also have a single bay SRV cabin.

But I do carry two 6A AUTO FIELD-MAINTENANCE UNIT kits just in case. So far, I've not had to use either one. But I've not stayed out long enough yet to really push my luck.

My jump range is right at 73 light years.

Yes, mine exploded with me in it. When I respawned, I was in my ship about 100 kilometers above the surface minus my SRV, so I started carrying two with me as a backup and now I feel it's overkill.
In what manner was the explosion obtained?

I find that when I'm out in the Scarab and my hull gets down to <40%, its time to repair. Unfortunately one bad move, like falling driving over the side of a cliff in the dark and 35% hull is not enough to reach the bottom in one piece...there have been several times I've had that one bad bounce with hull in the 30% range and it wasn't enough...it probably should be, but it isn't...

Always use premium repair.
Be wary after any station/FC visit, if you did repairs there, then you need to apply premium hull again to SRV.
