Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

And don't forget the bar, where you can buy and sell on-foot mats and watch ships come and go through the big windows. :)
And take selfies with your friends...

Well actually I did say " ... it is a shop on the concourse ... "
I actually looked for "concourse" in the menus of services.

Again, if someone has never been there and has no clue what you're even talking about, might best explain it to them in layman's terms.

That's the biggest problem with the community here: they talk to everyone as if they already know everything. We noobs that have only been playing a few months, and only had Odyssey for 6 weeks, don't. I wasn't aware of disembarking at bases at all. I thought that was specific to carriers as a feature.

Sometimes we take it for granted that people know what we mean, but we got to the root of the issue and you understood eventually. Sometimes it just takes a little longer...

So Odyssey added the on foot experience to ED in May of 2021. Like the Ship Dock menu is to ships/missions, the Concourse is the on foot interface (menu) for all of the on foot aspects of the game (Missions - Terminals & Mission Giver NPCs, Material Trader - Bartender, Suit and Weapon Store - Pioneer Supplies, Shipyard - Inter Astra, On Foot Space Taxi Service - Apex Interstellar, Mercenary Recruiting Center - Frontline Solutions, and Exobiology Sample Buyer - Vista Genomics).

ETA: Concourses did not get added to Fleet Carriers until March of 2022 with Update 11, IIRC.

That's right when I started playing. I originally bought Horizons. I got Odyssey about a couple weeks or so before update 11 hit.
It adds a lot to the game if you like it. The combat is fun without being overbearing, though one of the complaints is that its shallow and easily overpowered...

Try a simple delivery mission as a one-off some time. It'll help you on your way to discovering what Odyssey is.

Oh and there are Terminals at Settlements as well with a foot mission board and, other information.

No, Geological stuff is from Horizons which predates Exobio. There are some Bilogicals from Horizons, which I think will contribute to Exobio rank.

There is a FAQ or Guide in theses forums, but I cannot locate it at the moment...
Here is the guide I couldn't find before now.

...

So when I said " ... just wander in through the glowing frontage and chat with the serf behind the counter ..." that didn't give you a clue. Fair enough, enjoy your newly-discovered areas.

During a battle for LeClerc Research Center on Ethgreze 5, "Keep it up, the enemy's on their last leg!". Sorry to click bait but it'll cost ya 40 seconds for a laugh, the audio is too quiet, right at the beginning, "Keep it up -- the enemy's on their last leg!". The rest is just visual! ha ha ha

You'd be faster if you switched off SCA and went full throttle.
There also is a hybrid if you turn on manual throttle in the right hand console at ship->flight assistance

One of the best features of SCA right there...

Now that is just flat out bazar, it looked like a giant leach looking for a blood meal :ROFLMAO:

I had absolutely NO IDEA what you were talking about.

Get over yourself. I figured it out. It's not about YOU. It's about helping others when they HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE SAYING.

That's what I'm looking forward to getting into when I get my new GPU. 25 or 30 FPS isn't so bad when all you're doing is driving, hopping out, scanning, hopping back in and driving again. But when you're doing all of that, it would become a serious liability.

This weekend I ended up making 4 trips to witch head & barnard's loop. OK 3.5. I have been waiting to visit the action packed near side of Barnard's Loop with this friend for some time. And we finally teamed up and did it. But then he repeatedly got network disconnected and returned to port in Shenve! Ha ha I end up making 3.5 trips and finally he paid for his ship transfer.

Big Pink Gas Giant spotted. We'll be cruising in-system for awhile

At 3.09G, the highest gravity I have landed in! Too much to disembark!

Copilot steps out for his first first footfall!

We also got a good taste of Odyssey rough edges and bugs, that waylaid us for a while before setting out. One bug was the most memorable though,

Final (3.5th) trip, took the Asp
