Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Doing a spot of short range exploration since I was in the mood. For some reason I have a craving for chocolate now.
I DSS mapped it and it's made of 'not chocolate'.

OK, OK, for science - clouds of iron compounds (I guess that's where the colour comes from) in a mostly helium and hydrogen class IV gas giant.

So yer saying that Polonium grows on trees there... Actually i'm one of those adepts of fruits gathering from these trees, it feels nice and relaxing, and i used to do it since i discovered they exist. I was sure only G2 stuff is growing on em though, till today, not that i really checked much of em... I have bookmarked Synuefe EN-H D11-106 6A & COL 173 Sector PF-E B28-3 B1 for my purpuses (750 ly from the center on the Bubble), they feature Manganese, Germanium, Zinc, Chrominium and Arsenic and i visit these gardens once in a couple of months when i start to lack raw G2. Mb not the fastest, but somehow i still never visited those rumored Crystal Shards forests. I think i'm off to check these Polonium fruits now...
So i went there, checking things. Indeed trees, but no Polonium that i found growing on them. I still believe that only G2 grow on these trees - got a nice amount of Vanadium out of this. I guess Polonium still came out of a meteorite. I've also scanned that icy body + a single Bio that you probably didn't care about. Grey bacteria on an ice world, what can be more beautiful.

Bad thing however, from what i see now, it looks like i've sold the system data, so system is basically discovered by me now. Idk if you got a carrier, but i apologize in any case. There shouldn't be anything rly important there, but i just scanned stuff and probably sold it in the end as i always do. I wasn't venturing to the other planets with bio that you've apparently scanned. Feeling a little bad that my name is on the whole system tbh. But at least that system isn't looking so special. I just realized it now and checked, yeah, all discovered by me, which is not true.

Found a new type of bio (new to me, that is), called Fumerola Carbosis. It was in an Argon atmosphere. It had some interesting flower thingies on the side.

I got a closeup, for nemolomen. :p

There was also a very close-orbiting moon, and a forest of Fonticula Campestris. I've seen a lot of those Fonticula this trip, but the lighting here made them look rather ethereal:

Argon makes a lovely blue atmosphere.

I woke up to people posting in Reddit about this as if we are all meant to know what it is already. Estimates say it moves at 23.?ly/m and it's being called a Thargoid Wake Signature.
My best guess is that it's either a massive mother ship or some sort of portal.
For what it's worth, I tried to locate the new Stargoid from where I am, out in the Norma Arm. I don't think it's visible from here. Maybe I'm safe. :p

It kinda chops my liver I was just out at Witch Head and studying the barnacles, and met my first Thargoid. I then contemplated actually driving around the loop before leaving, which,

I was right out there at the right time on the right subject and everything. OK felt compulsion to vent, excuse me,

Instead, I came back to the bubble and end up turning this war enemy into a hostile faction. They say I better not come round no more. Well, why, cause I keep shooting them so hard in my new second generation fighting Cobra? Oh yeah I can relate, that must totally suck, to be in ur faction, ahem *cough*LOSERS.

Being upset about the near miss must have fueled my wrath extra good 'cause now I'm an expert and a gunslinger, for combat, merc.

Oh man, I'm gone for a day and the place goes to hell on a greased rail, someone let the cat out, now we'll never catch it. I just got done reading the doom-and gloom thread, everyone's rushing headlong towards it with all their ships and carriers, this doesn't look good auntie Em.
It's a good point.

Seems to be like the Pied Piper inasmuch as getting CMDRs to follow it... and then perhaps it will just kill them.

If it's Thargoids, then they'll just be extra stock for their larder.

I think I'll finish my current project, fuel up the FC and park outside the bubble in the opposite direction.

All worthy shots of a win in Stellar Screenshots my friend!

Found this warm, terraformable, atmospheric, landable planet with a relatively high 0.6g surface gravity. Almost like home. Bits of home, anyway.

There's not really anything down here other than cracked mud - which kind of implies it has rained at some point in history - but I liked the lighting. CO2 atmosphere.
