Console Profile Copy Process - Live Now!

Used the same name as I had on PlayStation which was also the same name as the CMDR I cleared-save on PC.

Two thoughts for folks having issues:

1. Have you logged into the same PC Account on which you clear-saved or registered a new one? The name will still be locked to the PC account that owned it originally so you'd need to be logged in with that PC account as the "target"

2. When did you clear-save? I did that yesterday ... so maybe there's a lag between the clear-save in the game and the Console Copy Portal refreshing its list of un-available names?
1. Logged in to both Horizons and Odyssey on PC to be sure that the save is cleared. Even re-made a new commander with the old name and re-deleted that save.

2. I cleared the save as soon as I got back home from work 2:45pm EST USA. Then waited around 15 minutes to start the portal ( had to remember logins and passwords ). Took a nap and tried again at 5pm EST. still no go, says my Xbox name is taken. ( which it was before I cleared my save ).

My Steam email and Fdev email were different.

The email I used to BUY ED on Steam, is the one that owned my CMDR name, because I changed my email with fdev AFTER I originally created my CMDR. But the original CMDR was created by my email that bought ED in Steam.

Anyways, so, I unlinked Steam from my fdev account I thought was the one that I was going to transfer too, and linked it to my other email, and no more problems!!!

Addon: so I USE TO log in to Steam with one email and into the fdev launcher with another, because I changed my email with fdev for a reason way back... but today needed to change back to my Steam login email to get my copied profile.... so had to log out machine in the fdev launcher and login with my Steam email address after relinking Steam on fdev site

Loaded onto my Steam Deck and confirmed working!!!

I don’t mind waiting, it can take as long as it needs to.

I’ll just be happy to have all my stuff on PC and be able to enjoy it finally.
This right here! Got the game on PC last year once I got a system that could actually run it but it was hard going back to the beginning with just a Sidewinder! Happy to be able to resume where I left off on Xbox with my Anaconda....hate that it is currently out in the middle of nowhere but glad to have it on PC!
 
Deleted my odyssey steam save and completed the ps4 transfer. No transfer happened, no ships, no credits. Very disappointed.

Edit: Fixed my issue thanks to the help of another Cmdr.

So I bought Elite and Odyssey on steam a few months ago and never logged in or made a frontier account for PC until today so I could transfer my PS4 account. The transfer went through and I can see my ship on Elite with Horizons, but I there's no option to launch odyssey and I cannot login into the Frontier store site with my new account to relink the steam account, and its giving me an error. I have submitted a help ticket.

I just checked. Both my steam and Elite PC login emails are the same. Oh well, I must have some other screwy thing happening.

I bought elite through steam, registered on Frontier with steam email. bought odyssey via steam.

when I made my pc commander I used the same name as my Xbox name ( gamertag )

deleted save on PC, but can't use the old name. Hopefully this is just the Fdev servers being wonky under high loads.
 
Thanks to FDev for the possiblity to copy our Console Profiles!

By the way, after my copy finished (to a new commander on PC) I downloaded, installed and ran the Launcher, logged in with my newly created Frontier account, then closed it again without trying to start Horizons.

As my main account is on Steam and I wanted to try to avoid downloading Horizons again (because of slow internet) I copied my "Products\elite-dangerous-64" directory from Steam to the directory of the newly installed Launcher - and that worked for me :)

I had to configure my bindings again, but at least I did not have to do the download again 😇

true to my resolve not to transfer on 13th... it's 14th here for almost 2h already 😂

New frontier account registered, new CMDR name picked.
The process went flawless till now, guess i will see the end result in the morning.

I've been put in the queue for console to PC transfer. Is it normal/ok to be logged out of the console while the transfer is underway? I was automatically logged out of my XBX account right after pressing the transfer now button. Or do we have to keep the online connection active until the transfer is complete?

We would like to remind anyone interested in copying their profile that the following elements will not be copied over:
  • ARX Balance. Please ensure that you purchase desired customisations before you complete the transfer. Any unspent Arx will remain on your original console profile
  • Fleet Carriers and their contents. Please decommission these ahead of going through the process so that your resulting Credit balance will be included.
  • Your Commander name if it is already in use by another PC player. You will be given the chance to choose a new name as part of the process
  • Squadron membership
  • Friends lists, Block lists and Private Groups
  • Current mission progress

I created a new account before transfer, and I did the transfer. It is complete. I have a copy on Xbox of the game, but when I check my account on the frontier store it says I don't have anything. Did I not get my copy of horizons because I didn't create the account at time of transfer? If so, how do I get it now? I can't seem to find where to submit a ticket as it only takes me to knowledgebase when I select the ticket option on the store page,
 
@Cybelwinna It looks like it’s working for me 👀 In the console transfer portal I logged into my existing PlayStation account and then my existing Frontier account (which did not have Horizons yet but is both linked to my PlayStation account and my Steam account) and so far so good. Transfer is in progress (though it could still fail I guess, but we’ll see).
Made a new account anyway because why not.

Yes that's expected, you cannot use either account while the transfer is underway..
Just wait for it to complete and it should be all good to go

Go to the Frontier User Account page, and login using the Frontier login, not one of the partner tabs... and when it logs in, it should show you your FID, and it should say Platform : Frontier

Then, you need to launch the Frontier Luncher, and sign in to the same account.
