I see this as a very greedy move by frontier no offense sally you are just a CM so no blame on you for this , but odyssey players not being to play horizons 4.0 is just absolute greed , I paid money to have all expansions why dont I get the option to launch horizons 4.0 to play with my friends who only have that version ? Only reason I see is that frontier want to make more sales of odyssey , maybe if you actually fixed the terrible engine you made people would buy it ?

Seems like the opposite of greed to me. Greed would be forcing everyone to buy Odyssey for any and all new content. Instead they give away a new version of Horizons that gets the same space-based content as Odyssey, while still providing Horizons Legacy for stubborn old ducks like myself. I'll grant you that the inability to instance between H4 and Odyssey in space is not great, but I think that has more to do with regulations (PEGI ratings) than greed.

My main suggestion would be giving Odyssey owners access to Horizons 4.0.

I also think it may be time to finally re-calculate Odyssey population values into existing Powerplay control systems. So much CC missing to the game and weird math with whether a sphere has been expanded before or after Odyssey...

If you are using Steam, restart Steam, Sally has mentioned this.
but if you own Ody nothing will really change if you were already up to date.

I am extremely dissapointed with this Update. I brought Odyssey because it was on discount and I was hoping to play the new Horizon 4.0 Update with friends, however buying Odyssey locks you out from downloading Horizon 4.0, which makes zero sense.

Why does paying for Odyssey gets you locked out from playing with your friends? This is unacceptable, so I am forced to refund Odyssey because of a decision that's for the lack of a better word, stupid.

Please, reconsider your decision Fdev, ALLOW ODYSSEY PLAYERS TO DOWNLOAD HORIZON 4.0

Did you buy Odyssey through Steam? If so, you can temporarily disable the DLC in the game's properties. This should give you access to Horizons 4.0 in the launcher.

Been a while since we had new ships for a space based game.
If you get new stuff ingame I may login or buy stuff from your cash cow "Arx Shop".

Your Odd which you have installed is OD4.
You will not recieive H4 because you own Odd and have access to 3.8.

thats not what were talking about here , I can not play horizons 4.0 because I own odyssey why not ? because they want the people who own horizons to have to update to odyssey to play with friends in the new 4.0 engine .

I see a severe issue that EDO players cant start HOR 4.0 to play TOGETHER with someone who has only HORIZONS and now can launch HOR 4.0!!
The only way a EDO owner can meet a HORIZONS player is when BOTH use 3.8.
Thas is a BIG drawback.

I can understand that it dont make much sense to play HOR4.0 when you own EDO.... but as instancing is not working between HOR4 and EDO - it would help if EDO owners can start HOR 4.0 too - just to be able to instance with friends!

I understand the whole issue with the ratings preventing instancing between 4.0 and Odyssey, but this update and not letting Odyssey players play with 4.0 friends is the wrong move FDev.

Ok seriously, what is the reason for not letting Odyssey owners play on EDH 4.0? If I have a full wing of mates and one of us doesn't own Odyssey, we ALL have to back down to 3.8 to even play together.
