Planet Zoo: Twilight Pack arriving 18 Oct 🦇

I can't distinguish which 2 they are, but I see only two squares where the biome symbols appear in the board. Hopefully it's just a first version, since the fox should have grassland, temperate, taiga and tundra for sure and probably also desert and tropical.
I think left one is grassland and right one is temperate.

EVERYONE I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION! SHOULD I BUY THE AUSTRALIA PACK OR THE ARCTIC PACK WITH THE TWILIGHT PACK?
It depends what species you want. I like all packs in its own way but the Australia pack has more unique species with the Kangaroo, the Koala and the Cassowary. So I prefer a bit the Australia DLC

The image quality isn't very good, but does the education board for the fox show only 2 biomes?!?! Frontier, you are going to get an issue on the issue tracker on release day!
That might not mean much, as we have seen countless times that education board and actual biome suitability sometimes does not match. Education board biomes on that screen can thus be early pass stuff to be corrected later. It could also be that the red fox in the game is based on a certain subspecies or ecotype. We'll see come release day.

Australia for the animals, arctic for the scenery pieces. If you like cold animals with Christmas and wooden buildings the arctic set is great. The Australia habitat is good with more iconic animals which are essential to build Oceania zones and the building sets are alright I guess if you like corrugated metal

It depends. What's your style? Do you try to build realistic zoos? If so, where do you usually build? Arctic animals would only fit in tundra, taiga, and maybe temperate areas, while Australia fits everything else.

If you wanna get a better roster for the north northern hemisphere, plus some animals for NA, Asia, and Europe, then Arctic is the way to go. But if you want a better representation for Australia, then Australia. Plus, the Wetlands pack and the Twilight Pack will add 2 new Australian animals which would fit the Australia DLC pack perfectly while the Arctic will really only fit the Arctic fox from the NAAP and the grey seal from the Aquatic pack.

If you're into building, both are good. Arctic has some nice wooden pieces that are very versatile while the Australia gives some metal, shantytown pieces which are nice for shacks

i dont have enough for the wetlands pack, australia is on sale for halloween and so is arctic. Also i decided on australia because i need plants for wombat :)

Surprised and not very convinced by this pack, but I'll withhold my final judgement until I have full knowledge on how the new exhibit works, how versatile the new pieces are and how all the animals look.

What I will give my opinion on is the animal choices.
I see mixed feelings by different people. It happens all the time. I believe some people were even unhappy with the animal selections for the Africa pack (which I think most of us would agree that it had the perfect mix in terms of how diverse the animals were and their very high popularity). Reality is it is not possible to please everyone. I personally don't care much for the red fox even if it's an European animal.
To me, even with the limitations of such crepuscular spooky theme, this pack shows two things:

1. The devs still try to please the community with their animal choices to a large extent. As we stand, the habitat animals rank 10, 20, 31, 80 on the meta-wishlist. Not the most popular, but not niche animals either. Plus any bat, independently on if they’re categorized as habitat or exhibit animals, were quite requested aswell.

There are many factors to have in mind here when it comes to choosing the DLC roster:
a) First and foremost, how popular animals are.
b) How common animals are in captivity (sometimes?).
c) How each region or biome is currently represented in the game.
d) How easy it is to make an animal.
e) The roadmap for future DLC animals.
f) How popular animals are within their working environment.
g) Insert a factor here I or we might not even be aware of?

I believe sometimes the last three are overlooked by the community. Granted, the f) one should be their last priority but specially in animal packs, there are certain oddball choices that could be explained by this. Keeping a healthy working environment and, most importantly, motivation is also important and tbh I'd rather create an animal I like that an animal I don't like or is indifferent to me. Likewise, I'd rather be happy to create an animal my working colleagues like that some creature nobody cares about. This might explain things like the inclusion of the Nile lechwe or even the proboscis monkey.
And the e) factor leads me to my next point:

2. To me, this pack confirms that the devs think of the future DLCs and animal choices way in advance and therefore may save some “flagship animals” (I don’t like this concept) for future packs to maintain the hype and support in the long term. There is no way they’d choose this roster and not include the Tassie devil if it wasn’t going to be added later down the line. It’d make no sense at all. And given that birds might be a thing from now on, these two things are for me indicators that support will continue beyond Christmas and possibly for one more full year.

Anyway that’s my take on it.

I agree, RG. I have a feeling that we'll have 1 more year, but only 1. 5 more DLC. I'm not gonna assume birds are coming until we get more info on how WE's work, but if the bats aren't looped (many are assuming they are because most E species are looped. But this seems different), then it's entirely possible a new type of animal type is coming.

What I mean by this is smaller animals that you'd only find inside small, completely enclosed enclosures, like sloths, marmosets, tamarins, etc.
Animals that are way smaller than what we have In-Game or smaller than what would make sense for standard habitats.

A big reason why I believe they won't be looped is because we can have paths inside. Now, if the bats were looped, then they'd be clipping into the guests constantly, and nobody would want that.
About customization, I'm not 100% and won't be until the pack/update is released, but I'm sure it'll be more customizable than normal E
