Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Effectively - yes. Which is why it's usually even faster to jump with a decent ship.

Reputedly, there's a Fleet Carrier Owner's Discord somewhere - and reputedly, there is a script that can do the jumping for you (not that difficult, as long as nothing goes seriously wrong).

I'm on the second jump now.

It does take longer, but it's nice to just push a button and walk away for a while and come back to find 500 light years gone by rather that sitting there jump after jump after jump...

Especially with the horrid server lag they've been having lately where you'll sit in the "tunnel" of a jump for 4 minutes straight every once in a while. That is VERY annoying.

The calculator is wrong as well. It told me 68 tons per jump and it's taking nearly 80.

Just curious... did the calculator factor in your carrier facilities tonnage plus stuff you may have had in your inventory?

I don't know. I assumed that it did.

EDIT: I just found my error. As I plotted the next jump, I noticed over on the left there's an area that says put the number of usage on your carrier screen here. That's why it didn't take it into account - I didn't enter it.

I had thought that since I was verified to the site through Frontier it knew the stats already.

That's all in the future for me.

The here and now is to get out to that system and mine until I'm blue in the face to work up a couple to few billion credits to stash in the carrier so I don't have to worry about payments for a year or two.

EDIT: Ok, so it says "NOT A VALID CARRIER DESTINATION" any time I try to go anywhere near that system. Do I have to physically plot every single 500 ly jump I make with this thing?

EDIT 2: OK, so that site you all posted gives me the systems to jump to and I just do that one step at a time?
Yes you plot one jump at a time. It took me about 6 hours during my day setting one jump every 20 minutes (mostly) to get to our expedition location. There is a five minute cool down after a jump before you can set the next jump.
There is a way to automate this using voice attack and some kind of macro. Something I might look into one day.
The other bind on a long trip is you have to sit in your T9 or Cutter so that you can transfer more fuel in as the tritium depot empties.

Well, it's finally happened. After all these years, I finally discovered my 2nd ever Earthlike World. So now I can no longer say I've only ever found one, lol.

I was out in the Courier, and took this shot.

I like the Courier. It's fast and agile, can land easily, pleasant cockpit, sleek looks -- it's just a nice little ship. Here I'm looking for Cactoida on a very dim red world.

Found some. Now I need help picking out the right pumpkin for Halloween. :p

Would it be wrong to tell you I found 3 ELWs in 2 days visiting only about 30 systems within about 400ly of each other, although two were previously discovered but not mapped?
Too late ... ;)
I am surprised you have not found more given all the exploring you do.

It varies a bit depending on server load or some such factor. I've seen it be over an hour, and everyone was complaining. It cleared up, after a bit. :)
You get all the good photo opportunities instead, which is better than smelly old ELWs 🤣
No pretty pictures from me today, just a couple of WWs and a lot of high metal planets. So a reasonable haul for the exploration rank.
