SRV base jumping is a thing...
As far as I can recall, the ship wasn't actually docked/landed - a great pity that... could've taken the SRV out for a really lo-grav spin...^
*stations also don't accept this sort of "docking" for refuel/cargo offload etc, unfortunately... :]

I've never seen this before: a base with a huge appendage coming out of either side. I looks like a huge toothpick through an olive.
Noob-hammers, they're called.
That is one of two variations of the Coriolis station, the arms are referred to as 'Noob Hammers' they are supposed to house high gravity facilities, their actual purpose is clobbering unsuspecting commanders flying too close.
The other variant has a second set of arms so it looks like a spinning cross.
Never seen one of those - and I've been to a few stations in my time. Just when you think you've seen everything...
