The reason is that one of your passengers asked for you to "kill ennemies", and their ships are going to hunt you, scan you if you can't escape interdiction and shoot at you.Maybe it's because I'm not allied? I don't know, I was chased on both my runs (a small sample, to be sure). I'll let you know if it dies down later.
I've been doing Robigo runs today on my alt account, mostly for the mats. I do get passengers wanting first class cabins which is why I put those in my size 6 slots. I don't bother with a shield. 20 million is about the most I can get on one run taking credit only rewards, but it can be lower. I'm sure I used to get more.I decided to give the Robigo run a try.
My first thought was that I'd refit my Python, but it's already set up nicely for cargo hauling to Medium pads.
So I decided to just buy another one instead.
It turns out I had just enough mats to buy a double-engineered FSD, so that worked out well. I spent a bit of time on the new ship, painted it red, and called it Red Rider.

When I got to Robigo Mines I found that I was not allied with one of the mission givers (although I am allied with Sirius Corp). So my payouts were a bit reduced because of that. It won't take long to become allied, though. I'm already Friendly and I've only done a couple of runs so far.
Even so I made 43 million in just those 2 runs, plus I got a few grade 5 mats as well.
I did have enemies sent after me, but I was able to just evade the interdictions, or jump away before they happened. No one tried to scan me anywhere.
So yeah, it was actually pretty fun, and now I have another way to make some nice credits.
Thanks for the great info on this

This is the loadout I went with. It seemed to work fine for me.

Couldn't deal with the robotic voice either and paid real money to change it. You know Madeline, of courseHad to buy the Donovan voice for the carrier. I couldn't take that Mr. Roboto voice anymore jump after jump after jump.
I think that since those "hostile" passenger events are credit related, it might depend on player's credit history, the "ceilings" trigger the appearence of a bad passenger and if you're not careful, you'll be chased by the guys they want you to kill.I've been doing Robigo runs today on my alt account, mostly for the mats. The Python I'm using is one built for other purposes with power plant and distributor downsized enough to get the jump range over 30ly so I can do 2 jumps each way on the trip.
I have allied reputation with all factions and had only one mission with an enemy in a Fed Gunship that was easy to outrun.
Yeah. But if I put a woman's voice on something and my wife found out, I'd get bricked.Couldn't deal with the robotic voice either and paid real money to change it. You know Madeline, of course![]()
I think my wife would roll her eyes, except she'd never be interested in what's happening in Elite.Yeah. But if I put a woman's voice on something and my wife found out, I'd get bricked.
23 years of marriage later and she's still that way when it comes to other women.
I misremembered slightly...Pics or it didn't happen.![]()
100% agreed. The thing is, you need 6 billion+ to comfortably buy a fleet carrier. If you really want to have fun with a fleet carrier, you need to find a way to get the credits as fast as possible if you want a carrier in a few months instead of a few years.
I didn't do much in the way of Robigo runs for the credits for my carrier. I had the better fortune to be building the credit balance during the time there were a lot of community goals for hauling commodities to stations that were paying 30K to 45K per ton which is way better than the 25K to 30K on a good day you can get for regular trading. I got to do all this in the glorious Cutter and the process was somewhat involving because you had to keep searching for new markets with the required commodity. I also like the fact I 'helped' build the Colonia bridge while earning between 1.5 and 2 billion credits.
I did a variety of things for credits, but I also did a lot, and I mean a lot, of the same thing to get the credits.
You cam also haul cargo or passengers at the same time as doing something else productive while sat at the computer table.
If you get it into your head you want a carrier, you will do something profitable repeatedly or wait years to get the credits.
For some people, credits per hour is a measure of success - keeping score, in the game. The fun is, what can I do to earn credits faster in this sandbox galaxy I have to play in?
Is there a setting in EDO that gets rid of that terrible glow effect around things in SysMap?
Very impressive.
How much was it worth? Here's a first...never seen anything like this before...

So the question becomes: are you sure you actually SAW them?I was about delivering mugs and gin
Not sure yet, just barely got the three samples. Not sure when I'll get back to the carrier...How much was it worth?
I still find it hard to believe the most valuable thing is just a blob on the ground.
