Winter DLC Speculation

also the outsource_lqa file should update I'm think in this upcoming two-three weeks! as everyone assume include me this dlc might will be animal pack (even though if too be honest I don't believe to anything anymore hehhe) but really I assume like from the december 1th until the 8th we should get annoucements for the dlc and the update even if It's maybe another scenery pack It's need to be annouce around the 8th in december.
which is very busy if u ask me lol like it's just wouldn't be even two months from twilight pack and we have a new dlc lol! but love it!

also that another reason why I hope the next dlc wouldn't be mountain animal pack and I also think it wouldn't be good for frontier for this dlc, why? because as we know december/christmas time It's always like gifts and holidays so if we think really about mountain pack yea It's fit for the season kind of, but peoples not going so much love it peoples want things like aquarium or aviary or something that can give the most requested animals that really what would be good for frontier. like all the last dlcs that was in december was amazing like europe pack maybe with animals they are not the most game changing or most exciting animals but if we talk about the pieces It's the best pack when it came to scenery, after we got aquatic pack which that is very game changing because before that we haven't had deep diving so definitely and arctic pack It's not good pack hahaha but that was the first dlc for planet zoo so that's kind of something lol.

because mountains ANIMAL pack don't sounds well mostly for the most important time for dlcs and games because expect then the wolverine there is no more animals that in really mountains like yea they can give like takin few sheeps bear marmot like really for me It's doesn't sounds really well. even though I'm kind of sure it wouldn't called really mountain animal pack because we know the last dlcs was a more unique names like conservation pack has more popular name and that is '"endangered species pack" and the twilight pack just could called "nocturnal pack" I have more feeling we might will see something with aquatic animals? fishes? I have this feeling but it might be wrong.
but yea that's what I think as I said and as I will say to every dlc (until we will get them) but I mostly hope the next dlc will give African Crested Porcupine ,Tassie, Maned Wolf, kiwi,tree kangaroo, two toed sloth etc.... THAT'S WHAT WILL MAKE MY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!

I think so long as they market it that the animals are descendants of Ice Age animals, and not the actual animals themselves, it should be fine! It all depends on how well they market it via socials, but I think Frontier could definitely pull it off.

I sometimes come by posts from one of the biggest PZ Facebook groups. Looking at the comments there, makes me think there is a fairly big group of players who enjoy the game but don't really follow PZ's SoMe or forum posts. Several people there have claimed the animals in the Twilight pack behave more actively when it is night in the game, so I definitely think people who don't know better will take that Ice Age name literally and either be confused why it doesn't feature extinct species or not know those aren't extinct.

Oh gosh maybe then. I’m sure there would be a way to name such a pack that would avoid any confusion, just off the top of my head I couldn’t think what. I mean they gave us a stealth nocturnal pack with a name none of us would’ve considered, I’m sure they could come up with a way to give us an Ice Age theme without mass hysteria and confusion.
It certainly would be a surprise theme, and we know how much Frontier loves those! I really think it possible.

Not that I particularly want to guess, but considering the short distance between releases I'm thinking the 20th of December for the next one.

The 20th sounds too late for me as there is very low time for bug fixing if needed. But we will see

EXACTLY! It's just don't really good pack for this time I'm think but yea I will get probably every dlc we will get even if it might be not my fav but It's just new content so yeah!

Birds that have a terrible flying animation loop? With maybe a ton of bugs...........no thanks....I don't need any more frustration at christmas (the "there will potentially be +20°C instead of snow at christmas" is more than enough for me...). I definitely prefer mainly mammals for the next packs (maybe then with 6 or 9 animals.........................one normal exhibit and a walkthrough/birds exhibit...).

I just still don't really understand what makes walkthrough exhibits so different from things like for instance the brachiation railings Like just in general I feel like people are almost desperately looking to put animals in it that Frontier would just make habitat animals (I've seen people suggesting tamarins even, which are perfectly fine as habitat animals), just because we now have a walkthrough exhibit.

Don't get me wrong, it's good to see the exhibit system being further developed, but I'd be really surprised to see Frontier making an entire DLC just based around just exhibits. And in all fairness, I wouldn't even be surprised if the next DLC doesn't feature another walkthrough exhibit animal at all.

I think the majority of people suggesting bird packs on here don't expect it to be exhibit species only. That is more what the people not wanting a bird pack tend to read into it.
A bird pack could easily be done in a 7+1 formation as we know from former animal packs.

The bat loops are so bad that they even fly through the interior of the exhibit (that is intended to be in there)...the only good bats are the ones which are hanging around

Well for starters, just to make it clear, it's not that I don't want a bird pack. Not saying you meant that I was one of those people; but just to make that clear

But if people are then expecting a habitat bird system or an all non aviary bird pack with one bird in a walkthrough exhibit, the bird pack just goes further into the baseless speculation area for me, which is still fine; but that's a form of speculation I'm not really interested in myself.

I'm just here to say, (ignoring whole bird discussion), that as someone who generally dislikes overly niche or specific DLC ideas, that I found Ice Age/Pleistocene pack idea very interesting.

I slapped my ideas for the pack together, although keeping in mind that something like this is very likely not happening:

Sloth would be an Exhibit animal (Walkthrough) in this case, as Wolverine and Armadillo would be the only ones needing new rigs out of the rest of the roster

Fantastic! This would be a wonderful lineup, although I’m sad it misses out my European Bison. I’d love to know which animals the Wolverine and Striped Hyena are descendants of, as the Wolverine was one in particular that I tried to fit into my lineup but didn’t know how!

Not an entire DLC based on exhibits, but a dlc featuring flying birds in a major way. That's by far the most expected and requested thing in the casual community.

And if anyone is expecting any aviary system more complex than the walkthrough exhibits they delude themselves. The bats have clearly been the test for that.

Striped Hyena is a stand in for Cave one, even tho Spotted is the only true relative, I think it could pass.

As of Wolverine, it's not descendant, like Musk Ox it was just around that time.

I think a great way to get some South American representation as well as have a Winter theming (which is very likely knowing Frontier), I think an Ice Age Animal Pack might be a great idea.
Now, I am by no means advocating for Pleistocene species in game. This hypothetical pack would give us animals that are close relatives of extinct Pleistocene animals with the mind to educate players on extinction as well as evolution. A lineup could look something like this:

Ice Age Animal Pack
-Muskox (Bootherium)
-Sumatran Rhinoceros (Wooly Rhino)
-Dromedary Camel (High Arctic Camel)
-Spectacled Bear (Short Faced Bear)
-Short Beaked Echidna (Giant Echidna)
-Nine Banded Armadillo (Glyptodon)
-European Bison (Steppe Bison)
-Linnaeus’ Two Toed Sloth (WE) (Megatherium)

This way, we get some highly requested animals, South American and Oceania representation and still align well with a Winter theme.

I really like this idea, though I would demand a saiga antelope in the line-up. Living relic ice-age snufflenose.

Also, a large woolley mammoth statue.
