and you dont get the point dont rush take your time you know theres a bug it will cost you and you still rush about doing the same things expecting a different outcome
I dont rush.
Others do.
It costs them thousands.
It costs me millions.

Also go to sleep.
You're tired and young, and when young people get angry while tired their logic fails.
(Trust me i know this)

Wow they let those changes go live? Staying docked for tonight... well I might be anyways with the clipper bug.

doesn't matter anyway, still downloading here....servers are crap, and the only place they didn't thought to actually use P2P is the only place it actually make sense: deploying updates.......

i mean, there is ONE thing P2P is good at in gaming, a SINGLE ONE and it's deploying update, and they still managed tu use it EVERYWHERE but where it actually would be relevant.....

did FDEV sabotage themselves or what?

No no, don't you realize it's totally your fault for playing the game you bought?

i agree but the answer is still simple dont scratch anything

You say it as if it was possible to not scratch a thing.

Even the most advanced pilot could not avoid being rammed or scratched by a PvE or PvP ship depending on the situation. Given the times you dock/undock in this game, seems pretty unrealistic to think that a correct piloting or a good skill can make you "untouchable".

Surely it will avoid you to scratch things but, what about others scratching you?

Say that to yourself if you want to keep playing, it is ok, but I won't risk my very expensive ship until this bug gets a proper fix.

It's nearly impossible to not scratch anything. I don't even play online and this is impossible..

Sometimes I am fighting Wanted ships and I am moving at a steady pace in a straight line and an authority vessel rams be from who knows where (I never even see them)
yes unexpected things happen outside in space during combat but being cautious in dock is a must even before 1.1 and the broken mechanic but it is clear from the amount of posts on this subject that players were flying with dissregard pre 1.1 and and got used to it well they aint now

Please back up that completely nonsensical claim.
so your saying you have never rushed out of the station 4 pip on engines and hit anything pre 1.1 or clipped the station ? and because it didnt cost much that was fine ive seen loads of players boosting out of station hiting npc and other players well they cant do that just now hence all the posts about bumps costing millions

The issue is not with "impacts" - it's with "remaining in contact" Even at zero relative velocity damage accumulates as if you were continually smashing into each other, with the current collision mechanics, two ships in contact, even at rest relative to each other, react as if they were ramming each other every "game tick". The DPS is higher than pre-1.1 dumbfire spam.

I approach the docking slot at a speed of 68 in a ship that's three times as tall as a Cobra and taller than a Python. (VERY curious as to how you went from 30 million in assets to over 177 million in assets in just five days, though, you must have traded your butt off =P ) and, to put it simply, the bridge is in a pain-in-the-butt spot, with most of the ship's bulk below my line of sight. Basically, I park like an Old Granny, and I brushed up against that Asp (well, technically it came out after I made my entrance, so it brushed up against ME) at less than half-throttle. No boost, no recklessness.

So for the love of God, come off the high horse already. -_- This isn't yahoos boosting out of the station, these are people traveling at the speed of molasses and still having their ships explode.

Whats your point?

But I was sitting still...please, don't make me wait any longer...I must know the secret to safe flying! Please educate us! Just how does one avoid lousy NPC AI?

bad flying again inpatient and fool hardy wait 1min letter box clear proceed no damage

DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE DAMN VIDEO !!

I swear to Braben you didn't ! Half of the video is literally me waiting for the T9 to clear out, then I slightly touch the sas and EXPLODE !

Oh god I need bad rep to be a thing again !

Did you watch the video at all? Question to video poster, did you toggle landing gear just before explosion?

No, I never get my landing gear until I'm ready to land.

Collision is indeed in need of a fix. Complicated physics involved in getting it right. They've tried it but implementation has not worked. They could revert to the previous one until they can iron out the issues with the more advanced one. Just my tuppence worth.

Well, if they just used real physics, it would actually be a lot easier. However, my guess is that the reality of physics does not make for good gameplay (neither does the current collision model). In fact, we've probably had a more close to physics model before but it has since been tweaked every which way to make the game more playable and fun.

well realistically at say 50 m/s several tons hitting anything is going to end up badly, sure we have shields but there is an enormous difference between deflecting the blow from a missile/laser/cannon, non of that has anywhere near the mass that ships do, maybe the problem is that currently it is too realistic?

Actually, I just watched your video. You were going over 100 m/s when you died. In real life, what happens when a car or a plane crashes into a building at 100 m/s (223 miles per hour, 360 kilometers per hour)?

I wonder if there's a space equivalent of Driver's Ed or Flight School.
