ANNOUNCEMENT 2.2 Your Input Needed - Passenger Tourist Destinations

System/Object: HIP 17412, planets 6 (gas giant with water based life) and 7 (water world with carbon based life)
Proposed name: Fossils in the planetary ring
Distance from Sol: 187 ly
CMDR Name: Sali Vader
Description: Millions of years ago, life appeared in planet 7, and a meteorite crash ejected rocks covered in microbes into space. Eventually, some fragments arrived at the gas giant, and the life that had survived the hazards of space managed to thrive in their new home. Some pieces remained in orbit and were incorporated into the gas giant's rings, with their microbes preserved as fossils. The recent discovery of these fossils in the rings of planet 6 are the last clue scientists needed to solve the evolutionary past of the life of the binary planets.

I based this story on the martian meteorite they found in Antarctica a few years ago, which has structures that could be microbe fossils: http://www.astrobio.net/mars/the-continuing-controversy-of-the-mars-meteorite/

If I may post here (instead of a new thread)...

I'm really enjoying these in-bubble sightseeing passenger missions. Some fantastic views I've come across.

And thanks also for numbering each beacon scan message. I am keeping a checklist of those I've visited.

Only one site so far that gave me trouble. A visitor beacon near binary suns. My Beluga crossed 105% heat while charging the FSD to leave. Luckily no damage (only smoke and fire), and I do realize that most any other ship but the Beluga would not have had this issue.

Dark Tango - Synuefue NR-M c23-0

In a system with four stars - Synuefue NR-M c23-0 - a couple of really small planets, orbiting each other at a ridiculous small distance. They are tidally locked, and each one almost completely obscure a large area of the companion, letting him in full darkness.

21844x1251.jpg

They both have silicate vapor geysers, and a very rough surface, full of mountains and canyons. In the dark area, nothing could be seen, and the landing must be fulfilled in complete darkness, using the radar.
21846x4509.jpg

The horizon from near the surface is stunning, as you can see the galaxy on the background, with the mountains completely dark...
21845x9962.jpg

A special mention is that system is in an fairly unexplored area, so many first discoveries are waiting for brave explorers.

I have not read the entire thread to see if this has been suggested but: Ground-based tourist POIs requiring the use of an SRV to visit & explore. Passenger/tourist missions requiring the use of an SRV to scan a series of land-based tourist beacons surrounding a tourist POI. "VISIT LV-426. SEE the fields of leathery eggs being harvested. EXPERIENCE the birth of a Xenomorph!"

Not sure if more locations are being considered, but here are a few if they are...

Altera's eye - IC 1805 SECTOR DQ-Y E3

If you've spat in the face of Sagittarius A*, land on Achenar 3 twice before breakfast, and leapt your SRV down a two-mile deep canyon and survived, this is the location for you.

This system is so called because it consists of a co-orbital black hole and neutron star whose combined gravity is sucking in everything else in the system remorselessly. As such, entry into the system can be a tricky business with the combined heat, tidal forces, gravity, radiation, and the chance of dropping directly smack into a neutron plume dangerously close to the event horizon of the black hole can cause your craft to implode, explode, melt, lose atomic structure, and so forth. Assuming you aren't burned alive, fatally irradiated, or spaghettified upon entry, appreciate one of the rarest and most unusual views in the galaxy in the form of a black hole sucking in neutron star ejecta. It is theorised that in under a million years the black hole and neutron star will collide with spectacular results.

System/Object: PLOEA BROU LE-T B45-6 3
Distance from Sol: about 50kly, en route to Beagle Point
CMDR Name: Mr Crown Vic P71
Description: Five gas giants in relative proximity provide an exceptional view for the visitors. The main planet has life.

All the images below feature all five of the gas giants. On the image taken on the moon, you may spot the rings of the one the moon is orbiting at the left, then towards the other side the other four beauties.

Great description, this should be added to the Galmap as the system description!

Fumaroles of HIP 61061

System/Object : HIP 61061 AB 1 A (850Ls)
Coordinates : -59.53 | -110.26
Distance from Sol: 191 LY
CMDR Name: FalconFly

Description:
After several extended surveys of this Moon, these Fumaroles originating from Iron Magma in the Moon's Geology were only recently discovered.
Although this Discovery was applauded by Scientists of HIP 61061 for Equality, it was overshadowed by a tragic accident during low-level surveillance of the Moon's vast Canyons in late 3302.
Authorities hence warn all Visitors about the dangers of high-speed Flight within these dark Canyon networks.

Hermit's Grave:

This beatiful outdoor world marks the last resting place of Amadeus Griff. Disdaining the noisy rush of humanity, he determined to find a retreat as far from mankind as possible. Radio messages received many years after his departure suggest he made it to the surface of the planet and found himself entirely alone, as he wished. His last message read 'If only there was beer'. It is traditional for pilgrims to drop a few bottles of the best brew into the atmosphere before departure.

Contestants' Folly

System/Object TRAIKAAE ZK-E C25-65 3&4
Distance from Sol 5,174 LY
CMDR Name: Greenmantle

This pair of otherwise unremarkable worlds was the setting for the notorious reality show 'The Edge' in which two groups of contestants were challenged to survive for a year 5,000 LY from home. The failure of the relief expedition led to increasingly desperate scenes and compulsive, if morbid, viewing for a growing audience back home. None of the contestants survived, but the 'prize' of 2m credits was awarded to the familes of those who had lived the longest. The resulting outcry led to the 'Galactic Challenge' series being taken off air. Fans of the show still make the journey to these distant worlds for reasons best known to themselves.

Northern Neutron Gateway

System : LALANDE 25224
Object : PSR J2144-3933
Distance from Sol: 196 LY
CMDR Name: FalconFly

Description:
This Neutron Star marks a northern entry Point onto the "Neutron Highways" that Deep-Space Explorers and Adventurers have recently developed to reach out even into the furthest extremes of the known Galaxy.
Apart from the inherently risky procedure of Supercharging the FSD, this Neutron Star is probably best known for surprising unsuspecting Ships entering the System.
Being the B Star - but having over 5 times more mass than its accompanying Class F Star - it acts as the jump-in Point into this System.

Coordinates : 20.71 | -51.31
Distance from Sol: 191 LY
CMDR Name: FalconFly

Description:
In a cooperation of the local Mineralogy and Exploration Departments, this Iron Magma field has been identified and released for exploitation by the Authorities.
