Sorry, TLDR but just nope anyway.

Here are just two things that instant ship transportation make completely pointless:

- Shipyards and Outfitting: we no longer need any shipyards or outfitting except the good ones. Location is no longer a factor. Any shipyard that doesn't stock everything or offer a discount is now completely irrelevant.
- FSD jump range: in fact just scrap FSDs altogether on any ship apart from the entry level Hauler, the Asp, DBX, and Anaconda. No one needs to ever travel anywhere in any other ship except these.

It's dumb, it'll always be dumb, and there's no justification for it other than dumbing down the game.

^ This.

Take Founders system access for example. As a DDF backer, I can go to Jameson and buy anything, at a discount.

With "cast ship summon", I can pull any of my ships from anywhere in the galaxy (or at least a significant radius), upgrade them, and then summon them back on demand to somewhere else as I need them. So I get that advantage now which others don't have unless they have Founders system access or are Elite (which grants it).

So really all I need to have is a fast Asp and I can zip back to Jameson, buy whatever I need, then zip wherever I want to summon it. Shipyards and outfitting are now totally irrelevant for me. I can buy any ship, and summon it anywhere after I jump over there in an Asp with a size 5 FSD and decent fuel tank.

Working as intended?

I am thinking about this 3D printing explanation used by Frontier.... I was surprised to learn that the ships that carry the fighter hangers could re-print 7-8 ships from one module.
Now im wondering why and how everything else can not be 3D printed. SRV's, missiles, powerplants. Clearly alongside the AFMU we may as well have a 3D general printer module.
Flimley.

Right, they might as well throw the whole economy and galmap out of the window. Every station has every module and ship. What is the point of having different stations? It undermines the entire galaxy and BGS. There is no point to traveling anymore. Nothing to find. Find it once. It's everywhere you are. Like having a Bag of Holding.

As long as one of your ships has an engineered FSD. There will be zero requirement for any others to be upgraded...or even past rating 'D'.
Just use the engineered ship to jump to your desired station and ping your other ships across. Which, really destroys in one blow everyones efforts so far upgrading their fleets. Could be very demoralising for many.

Flimley
It invalidates nothing! All those ships I've upgraded I'll want to fly at various points of my choosing. If on occasion I just want one of my ships now then fine. People will still need to fly their ships.

You think moving your cutter for 10 million to a CG where you make 5 million is mind boggling smart?
Or that saving 10 minute travel time for some bgs action that can take weeks is unbalancing?
Eh.
I think it matters. it removes depth.

Even if its a small ammount , it can change a lot of things.

Now , because everyone has this power , its still ballanced for the players.

However the ships loose ballance. so , I think more features need to be added to ships to give them at least a role post 2.2

For example multiroles , I used them for long travel when expecting a fight and to do trading.

My best friend hangs out in empire space , me in alliance. we meet up and undermine hudson. as a resault , we meet up in ASPs. leaving my vulture behind and his clipper.
Now we can just go in our taxi-aspTM and magic a warship into reality.
If its expensive there is no issue , but I cant see FD ever making it expensive... why?

Because :
Original plan was 100cr at start , end resault was 1000cr
Original plan was 1500 bounty was a lot , end resault 500.000 cr is normal (plot hole by the way , in the books it calls 100.000crs a tone of money for a bounty)

I am expecting the money to be token at best.

Maybe the dosh should scale upwards based on ship class.
so bringing a eagle is cheap , but bringing a vulture is hyper expensive (about 90% of the ships price and all its modules)

When are going to get 3d printed landing? And fighting? 3d printed combat will be super handy.

What is the point of combat? Why have wars? I mean the galaxy is full of raw material. Just take what you need and you have anything you want. No more "I wonder what's in your hold" "ooohh, plasma dephasiphiers" ... "That's cool, I'll go print me up some of those. For next to nothing... Because you know.... Fuel is practically free."

It just hit me !
They added an end game ! :(

Totally childish and irrelevant points.

The whole fkn point of how this game is ground-breaking and so interesting is the size of it. Once you can go anywhere in a Hauler and magic your proper ship there, travel is but a meaningless, inconvenient sideshow. Why can't I teleport there too then? Maybe I don't like to wait. All of you can just imagine I jumped through a hundred stars, what's the difference? The difference is the entire foundation of the game world.

Exactly.

You know how much that changes?
Absolutely nothing.
Instead of getting the instant transfer, you can just play half an hour longer and move any ship you like anywhere.
That's what we're doing right now.
It's not even deep or complex. It's really just sitting there, pushing the jump button a few times.

Actually they don't, not to the same degree. They just need to fly a single (or a few) ships which are maxed out for jump range and fuel, then they can get any other ship when they arrive. So they only need to fly one ship any significant distance, and stay intrasystem or do short hops otherwise. Even if they're going on a 400LY Sothis jaunt, on the way back, they'll be back in the fast taxi ship.

Love it? Hate it? Use it or don't use it. If it increases the player base and brings in more earnings for FD. Then thats a good thing for all of us.

2.3 Introduces Pilot Teleportation because actually flying anywhere is just inconvenient.

"Instantly team up with your pals at your favourite station, summon your favourite ships, and play it your way!!"

Is this the game we want?
No...
I backed the game because it sounded like it was going to be immersive.

They talked about loading cargo in real time in the vlogs ! what happened?

But it dumbs down the game for us all , thus making it more casual like NMS and less like the game david braben talked about in the vlogs

omg..

1. Why do people bother transporting anything other than raw materials anywhere? because it pays the bills :)

2. Why are there famines and supply crises? because there's a lot of mouths to feed :)

3. Why do stations have a stock limit, and some outright don't have certain ships. There are no stock limits on available modules / ships. They only have certain legal rights to print certain ships :)

4. Why are ships printed with chipped paint, dirty windows, old chairs and stains on the leather? Not a clue? :)

It just doesn't add up.

Why the omg? it's just my thoughts buddy

What about the way we used to see different ships based on how far a CMDR went. and that as a rule undermining was safer the closer to your ''home'' it was?
Now it will just be the best tool for the job all the time , in every system
