Patch Notes Update 2.3 The Commanders - Changelog

Yes, looking forward to a patch. Basically for me it's the graphics stutter and the erratic DC. It just seems to be chewing up the pc memory hence the jurky graphics. Well at list I think that's the case.

Everyone knows that FD goes on a mini-vacation after releasing a new DLC. They usually disappear for 1-2 weeks after releasing.

First of all, I have to say 'Thank you' for this update. 2.3 is a very nice one, Mulitcrew is not for me, but I like the CC and other smaller improvements.

But easter is over now, come on FD, let us know something about the future.....2.4 :)

yeah thanks for waiting for months to play for 2 hours

Disagree. After previous releases they have released one or two patches in the week or two following release, with the first patch sometimes being the day after release to fix a handful of critical bugs. That's why I'm surprised we haven't had a patch yet, though I suspect we'll see one either later today or tomorrow.

Because Friday was good Friday (bank holiday), then you had Easter weekend, and Monday was also bank holiday.
Do you enjoy spending time with your loved ones? Other people do too.

Just wanted to chime in and say that all the (IMHO valid) criticism about MC aside, the character creator is great, and dropping out of SC has rarely been smoother. Is it perfect? No, especially not when there's lots of commanders in the next instance, but hey it's a marked improvement over the previous version. Really appreciated.

I can sign this positive post :)

If you actually read up about the bugs, they were present in beta and wasn't fixed before release.
So FD should not have released this version until it was ready, but we all know why they did release it, being a holiday it would be good revenue for the company to sell the expansion.
So knowing of the bugs they should of had staff available to work on a quick patch instead of thinking ahhh its good enough!
I'm a builder, I wouldn't let someone move into a house I'm building before I put the roof on, unless I was called Frontier Developments!, you'll be alright as long as it don't rain over the holiday, if it does i'll do a little patch when I finally come back to work as family is important!

What is meant by these items?

General

• Added some new challenge scenarios
- 4 new Incursion scenarios
- Speed docking
- Driver challenge
- Ship launched fighter challenge

Are the 4 new Incursion Scenarios Thargoid related? New scripts perhaps?

After a day or two doing 100+ jumps around the Aries Dark Region with a couple of UAs in the back, I've had no Thargoid Hyperdiction's at all. Only a total of 15mil in scan data to show for it...

Does anyone else think its bad that 2.3 has been released for a week now and still no quick patch fix? It does make me wonder what is the point of beta testing when they release something like this.

I agree with straha20's post That its not really Beta testing, its Paid Early Access... but that said, I agree with you. How serious bugs like the Gal/Sys map bug gets all the way through 'Beta Testing' only to go live on the servers boggles the mind! I'd rather have waited another couple of weeks for a more 'bug free' experience of the 2.3 Patch.

As is, The Free Camera doesn't work for me (as well as being very non-intuitive [to me at least] to setup) and The Gal Map is a pain to use along with cursor issues. Multi-crew doesn't really float my boat, but some of the transition are a nice improvement (except for the 3min hyper jumps over the BH weekend). Oh and the new Scanner mods have increased my jump range a bit too. :)

No, but if after the family moves in the roof develops a leak while you're not available, I doubt you would leave everything and anything you might be doing and run back to fix that one leak (at least based in my experience with people that work in that).

You should look for another builder then as having a leak in a roof isn't what I call a minor problem, and yes I have been called out of hours twice to do such a thing in stormy weather. (on both occasions the customer was warned that the property was not water tight, yet they chose to stay in the dwelling while major work was being undertaken but we still tried to make the customer happy)
I haven't seen FD make any attempt to put right what they have done, and as a paying customer I expect more than what I am getting at this present time.

Starting to look like another day is going to pass without any fixes...were past the seven week mark on some of these bugs without a fix now...

At least up until eight days ago, I could play the live game and not waste my time with the early access game...

Well ... it seems they've allocated a point number for it which is a promising start! :p

That is nice to see. But some kind of official post from Ed or someone over there about the issues over the long weekend would have gone a long way for a lot of people.

This lying low in the face of some well justified criticism harkens back to the No Man's Sky debacle and the deafening silence from Hello Games.

It's been Easter dude no-one would of been in the office

How much longer are we going to be seeing this pathetic EXCUSE being used to justify and defend the indefensible?

There was a four day bank holiday in the UK. Yeah! We all get that!

That doesn't change the fact that when you release a major update to YOUR PRODUCT that has a good number of instabilities and bugs still in it, you don't give the entire staff four days off and hope for the best!

Maybe that's the way things are done back there in the UK, but pretty much everywhere else on the planet tends to take these things a little more seriously, and plans for the worst with an ALL HANDS ON DECK approach.

If that was too much to ask on a four day holiday, then they should have held off the release of 2.3 until this week like 99.9% of those Beta Testing this mess was saying for a week before the launch!

It was BECAUSE it was a holiday weekend they released it. That means the players can spend the holiday gaming. They get lots of new players that way too my hype of the new version. From a business perspective it made perfect sense. I doubt they knew the bugs would be so bad, those would have been caught before release, and generally the bugs are less.... big, and can wait a holiday weekend.
I would expected things to have been commented on and addressed by yesterday however.

I don't read anywhere on this extensive list where you will improve on the Adjudication and Matchmaker server issues many of us face now while trying hard to play.
